How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All good!
Just stayed one night before going to Toro Toro. This seemed to be the main place to stay in Cochabamba with the taxi drivers asking if that’s where you were headed. It’s clean, comfortable, had a great breakfast, and the staff was super helpful in providing information on Toro Toro and Cochabamba.

Staff were so friendly and so helpful with information about Toro Toro park. Lovely building, comfortable beds, great kitchen and TV/lounging room. One of the nicest hostels I've stayed at in South America.

I arrived super early and even though the checoult wasn't until late the night reception staff found me a comfortable place at the lobby to sleep, or a duvet and a pillow. I could shower. I mentioned that on last day I wouldn't be having breakfast cause of early checkout so I could swap and have my breakfast the first morning. Super flexible. I was fresh and set for the upcoming day after a long trip. The other reception staff was also super friendly and informative, very helpful. Great breakfasts! Comfy rooms. Super clean

There were mosquitos and no way to escape them, like screens on the windows. Some nights were much worse than others. Bring a head net.
The building and grounds are great.

There were lots of mosquitoes in the room and we got bitten a lot during the night. Not sure whether the hotel can do much about that, though; the windows were shut so not clear how they were getting in.
The people at the desk were really helpful with some recommendations and calling taxis. We enjoyed breakfast, too.

Really clean, really comfortable and homely hostel. The facilities are top notch, the included breakfast one of the best I’ve had during my half a year in South America and everything just works. The staff are also incredibly helpful.

No towel included for the price which is on the higher side of Bolivian hostels (but worth it in this case).
Great location near the central plaza. Walkable to attractions. Big, clean dorms with in-suite bathroom. Lots of areas to chill.

There were quite a lot of mosquitos.. the hostel had plug in things to help get rid of them but I advise to bring big spray!
Really great location, comfortable beds, big common areas, let us chill in the lounge room when our bus arrived very early (at 1am), 24hr reception, big outdoor garden, delicious breakfast, kitchen you can use, friendly staff

Very friendly and helpful staff. I arrived on a night bus and they very kindly let me check in early so I could sleep. The place is clean, secure and well located. Comfortable bed with an individual light and socket. Nice breakfast. Plenty of areas to sit and chill. They also have printed info on how to get to ToroToro which was helpful.

Make sure to bring BUG SPRAY. They unfortunately bit me especially at night. They have some sort of blue plug in to help but this was told after we complained. But it’s crazy the amount of mosquitos
Great wifi! Amazing hot shower! Comfy bed. Was able to sleep in tv room until check in. And it was really comfy. Lots of space to hang out. Great location & amazing breakfast!!

The sofas in the living rooms could be a little comfier/have thicker cushions
Lovely hostel with comfy beds, really nice breakfast, great facilities - well equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms, living area with big tv, balcony and patio areas, and good wifi.

The beds could be a bit more private.
Wifi worked well, it’s central located. They offer also free walking tours. Breakfast was good and people are nice.

The property is of some of the highest standards I’ve stayed in. Showers were great, wifi excellent on all floors even in the backyard. The decorations and sense for in the structure was really nice as well. The hostels is located close to everything, right in the center of Cochabamba. Breakfast was included and was way better than expected. Staff was very kind and helpful.

Great hostel in Cochabamba with friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. They allowed me to move the second night I had booked to after returning from Torotoro National Park.
