How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was good & comfortable with hot water all the time & great heating for the cold nights. The heating is provided by radiators mounted on the walls, (not just a small electric heater). Despite rooms facing onto the central courtyard, which from previous experience can be noisy, it was quiet. The chef is excellent! Try the steak with Roquefort cheese. The location was fine for us but might not be if you don't like a 10 - 12 minute walk to the main plaza area and Calle Sucre with it's bars (the walk kept us fit). Reception organised a taxi for us to get a bus to our next destination.

We had problem with water while we were staying there. There was very dirty cood water from shower and they didnt want to give us a compensation

Difficult to have a shower without putting water everywhere. Only one almost empty toilet paper roll when we arrived. Cooking facilities were difficult to use. They charged us 18bs for having drunk water in the bedroom. Luckily they didn't charge us for each litter of oxygen we used while breathing lol
Pretty easy to access. The staff was nice. The room was comfortable, shower was ok and beds were good.

First let me say that the staff were pleasant, tried to be helpful and were never rude. However: Room furnishings were very run down. We were staying two nights for a rest day while traveling. Paid for a "suite" because pictures showed a sofa - the sofa was beyond useless, I have never in my life seen such a worn out piece of furniture. Was not usable, belongs in the trash bin. Bed was just "ok" , but the bedroom had no ventilation, no window, just a fixed window to let in some light. Only way to try and get some air into the room was to open the window in the living area to the courtyard, but in the enclosed courtyard someone was smoking so that window had to stay shut. The tiny bathroom window did go to the outside, but no way to get any amount of air into bedroom from that. It was very stuffy all night - hard to sleep. Providing a fan would have been a big help. Also - it advertises a restaurant, which was a key feature for us because we were staying over Palm Sunday, and I knew most restaurants would be closed. Unfortunately that included the hotel restaurant. The night before they were serving room service, but on Palm Sunday, the night it was most needed ... nothing. We had to resort to buying greasy street food which didn't sit well. Advertising and then not providing any food options over a holiday weekend shows no consideration for their traveling guests who have little to no other options for food in that situation.
Fantastic, secure parking, which is the main reason I'd consider going back again.

The mattresses are too hard and there were not enough pillows, the ones provided were too soft

We were a couple who stayed there for two nights. The room with private bathroom was simple, very clean and quiet. The patio was a relaxing spot to hang in. Simple breakfast. Also nice lunch, if you are willing to pay for it. Personal was very helpful and nice - we asked questions on what to visit and how to go places and got good directions and they even called to find out if the different spots were open and in service (since it is still pandemic and also there was paro cívico with no transport available for some time) It was a quiet and good stay for us.
