Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I loved the room and bed. It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. I also liked the Olympic Size pool. There were kids in the pool but it was also large enough to accommodate guests. I also liked the breakfast buffet. The food was delicious, and it was nicely presented. There were many options to choose from. I also liked the freshly brewed coffee and many fresh juices. And the staff was attentive. The manager at the breakfast was attentive. She helped me with translating items on the menu into English.

SwitzerlandTwo small incidents include a staff member entering my room (after knocking) in the morning as I was still sleeping (fortunately I had locked the door), and a giant cockroach roaming my room in the middle of the night. Paying the room became quite a nightmare though: I wasn’t aware I had to pay on the spot (I thought the price would be taken from the credit card I used for the booking), I could either pay by cash, card or bank transfer. Given the considerable sum, I couldn’t choose the first two options. Staff members gave me the necessary details to make a bank transaction. A lot of back and forth happened when it was time to confirm they had received the payment. I finally managed to check-out and sign the bill, but when I came back a couple of hours later to pick up my luggage I was told I still had to pay a small amount in cash. This came without any written information. After insisting to see proof of the payment they received from my bank, I was finally shown the amount and could see it didn’t match the original bill. However, after later inspection, it turned out to be their bank who pocketed a transaction fee. As this is quite a current situation with international payments, I’m disappointed in seeing that the hotel didn’t take this into consideration when issuing the bill. Instead, I was treated like a thief during my last moments in the hotel, the manager who finally showed me the information I requested never apologized for the inconvenience *their bank* caused and was very reluctant to providing a written confirmation of additional cash payment (which I finally managed to receive).
The staff was friendly enough and the premises clean. Airport transfer was included and efficient. The restaurant has a varied menu but make sure your order and wishes are clear as more than once I received something different than ordered (ask for what the sides are, make sure to insist on the no ice cubes, ...). They offer mosquito nets to hang in your room *upon request* (I unfortunately discovered this only at the end of my stay).

rooms were comfortable, the view was great, and it was quiet. the staff at the front desk and restaurant were very helpful and patient. the staff did not look like they had to be tipped for every service or assistance
