Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe staff in the dining room seemed less than interested in waiting on the few customers there. The menu is very basic though very good There was no elevator and we were on the 4th floor. However. I believe the lower price takes this Into consideration.
Great location Beautiful views. Very clean and large bedrooms The food in the dining room was very good.

United KingdomOther hotels have better facilities e.g. Bigger pool, Gym, Spa facilities etc and whilst the Yellow Bird does not have any of these due to it's boutique size it's location to the beach/sea compensates for some of these facilities.
The hotel is ideally located in St Lawrence Gap where there are lots of great restaurants and bars. The location is on the seafront and our room had a superb direct ocean view and the beach was only a few yards away.

LithuaniaWonderfull view from the terace, sea, there we were swimming every day, 30 m from the doors. Room was nice, very clean and personal very nice too. It was simple, but comfortable and we liked it. Only one thing, if you are sensitive to the noise, don't take 2 bedroom apartament, because there is the bar not near and the terrible noise from it ends only at 2 o'clock at night. In the main building of the hotel, there is almost no noise. But when we complained about noise, they tried to do the best they could, gave us ear plugs that really saved us.

Isle of ManBecause of the location there was quite a lot of noise from nearby bars and clubs on a Friday and Saturday night.
Fabulous location, every room had a balcony with a fantastic view of the beautiful beach. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We loved that the room had a kitchenette so we had the best of both worlds when it came to mealtimes. A great location in the heart of The Gap, with loads of bars and restaurants a short walk away. Pool was lovely too.

location, location, location. Excellent stay in February. A lovely and comfortable hotel situated at the entrance to St Lawrence Gap. However, it’s the staff that makes this hotel the perfect place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble and they all go about their daily business with smiles on their faces.

The location was excellent, very close to some great beaches, restaurants, public transport. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Offered a shower room on our last day as our flight was not until later. This was our first time in the Caribbean and I chose the Yellow Bird on its reviews, I chose right.

United StatesWe had the room with 2 bedrooms. I really wish it would have had 2 bathrooms but that wasn't a deal breaker. I did not like the shower. It did have a beautiful rainfall shower but that does not appeal to all guests. As being a black woman I'm not getting my hair wet everytime I shower so it was very inconvenient for me. It did have a little shower head that was tucked into the corner. You could not adjust the pressure so it did hurt when it hit certain parts of your body. I literally had to squeeze into the corner to shower so that was very inconvenient. You could move the shower head side to side but couldn't lift it. It was kind of low. Also the water wasn't always hot. I didn't like that there were no elevators but there was only 4 floors and we were on the 4th floor so it wasn't a deal breaker too much but did get tiring some days.
The location was absolutely perfect. Located directly across from a beautiful beach! The place was clean. Smelled great. The location of the hotel was surrounded by so many bars, restaurants, markets etc. You could find literally everything you need in walking distance to include other nearby beaches. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I would caution other visitors, if you want to get to sleep at night this might not be the place for you. Its very busy on the strip and you will hear music playing very late/early in the morning. It didn't bother us though.
