Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe location of the hotel is its only problem, meaning that it is a 30-minute walk from there to the seaside to find another bar or restaurant. You basically have no choice but to use the hotel bar and restaurant which are fine by the way, except that they don't take any orders for dinner after 8pm..
The room (Flamboyance) that I had was very good: spacious, high ceiling, nice bathroom. A private deck with comfortable furniture. From the room and the deck one can see the sea. I much liked the character of the hotel, a bit boutique like, not too many rooms. Very quiet location. Beautiful, large garden, a secluded swimming pool and many peacocks

United KingdomWe arrived on Sunday. There was no bar or restaurant for evening meal, and nothing close by to walk to to get provisions. It would have been nice to know this in advance.
Loved the peacocks and wildlife around the property. Pool was lovely and cool on a hot day. Very comfortable room with fantastic en-suite with huge walk in shower. Reggae busses pass the main entrance on a regular basis.

United KingdomNothing. It is not very near to the sea but we knew that before booking, just for awareness.
Lovely quiet boutique hotel. Lots of peacocks roaming around which added to the atmosphere. Laid back with nothing rushed. Lovely room with swinging day bed on the terrace (we had the Hummingbird room). Good food and friendly staff. We had complimentary yoga at sunset on the terrace which was a nice added extra

SingaporeLocation is not ideal. Had to walk on roads with no sidewalk to get to the nearest beach or food place.
Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast at the restaurant. Small but beautiful pool. I liked the peacocks too. Rooms were clean too.

United KingdomThe spa area and swimming pool was excellent. The spa treatments were excellent. It was nice to have some good home cooking, although the menu is very short, particularly if various things on the menu are not available.

United KingdomIdeally it is best to have access to a car when staying at this property, otherwise getting to sights, the beach or other restaurants would be a hassle.
This was a beautiful property, hidden away in the midst of Bridgetown. The rooms were spacious, the staff were lovely, the pool, although small was a little oasis. The complimentary massage was greatly appreciated. We had a late flight departure from Barbados and the staff were very accommodating in allowing us to shower in one of the spa rooms prior to our flight.

United KingdomWe had a room without a window but as we were only there one night it wasn’t a big deal. It was a great room with large en-suite and beautiful mural painted on one wall.
It was a beautiful oasis with a lovely small swimming pool and peacocks wandering around the gardens. The staff were all lovely and breakfast good too

United StatesThe restaurant facility didn't work. It was very over priced for what we got. The manor was not near any walkable restaurants or the beach. Also, communication was poor. We had understood that there was free coffee in the morning, but it turned out they were thinking instant coffee sticks in the room and we were thinking a pot of hot coffee. The staff was very helpful in calling taxis for us.
The room we had was delightful--roomy and updated. We especially liked the hanging extra bed on the deck. The grounds were nice and filled with many peacocks strutting around. The pool was a dream- free form and surrounded by tropical plants.

United KingdomAs it is a small boutique hotel there isn’t much vibe or much going on. Barely saw other guests.
Peacock Room was spacious and had an amazing shower. Hotel is in a great location with a beach in walking distance. There are peacocks onsite which is lovely to see.

United KingdomThe restaurant prices (including breakfast) are on the pricey side and the restaurant was generally very quiet during our stay. It was also unclear whether the bar was open during the day as nobody was using it. No matter - we found some good food and drink options within a 20 minute walk. The location is slightly out of the way - 20 min walk to the nearest beach (Pebbles/Brownes), but this is also part of the charm, especially as the hotel has a good view over towards Carlisle Bay.
A beautiful two night stay at the end of our time in Barbados. Sweetfield Manor is so lovely and peaceful. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and had a view of the sea in the distance. The communal seating and pool area were relaxing and quiet. Having the peacocks stroll the gardens was gorgeous - previous reviews had mentioned that they are noisy, but we didn't find this at all! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating - it was a great help to us to be able to use the spa shower after we had checked out so that we could enjoy a beach day before a late flight. The highlight was certainly our free short massage on the koi carp pond, which was just such a relaxing touch and a really special bonus. I would certainly recommend Sweetfield Manor for those seeking some peace and relaxation from their time on the island.

RomaniaAlicia was great but the rest of the staff were simply ok and not as good as I'd have expected.. Nobody could help me find a walking tour. That was not good. In fact the Barbados Museum could have told me or them. It doesn't have foreign manager or owner I suspect. Some food excellent some disappointing. Expensive, charming but a twenty minute walk from the beach. $230 without breakfast is too expensive.
Nice place. Alicia was wonderful. Her colleagues were coldee. Nice furniture and veranda and marvellous cocktails.
