Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe didn’t have any furniture in the bedroom to store our stuff and nothing to hang clothes (which would have been very helpful on rainy days to let our clothes dry). But otherwise everything else was perfect !
The staff is super friendly and helpful. They organise an amazing tour of Herzegovina (this is what made me choose this hostel over other ones). There is a private bathroom for each bedroom. It is located quite close to the city center.

United KingdomOne minor thing was having to hold the shower head up yourself while showering, but that was the only little problem - would still really recommend.
Lovely little hostel in a great location not too far from the city centre! David was a great host and it was fairly easy to get talking to new people.

Great location, comfortable room, beds, shower and kitchen. Most of all I liked the seating outside where people came to have breakfast together or talk in the evenings. It was a very chill and relaxed hostel where I felt free to talk to everyone. The owners were very nice and did my laundry in the late evening. They do tours which were a little pricey and I didn't go on them, but I heard all good things from those who went.

AustraliaThe location was great close to the bus station and short walk to the old town. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean, there was air conditioning in the rooms, the kitchen was nice. And the tour they offer is incredible and would highly recommend going. It is good value for money, the owners dad takes you on the tour and is so friendly and lets you choose your own pace, and you get to see so much of the surrounding areas.

NetherlandsNothing to be honest
The location was great, between the main (east) bus station and the oldtown, the staff (David and his familymembers) was wonderful...and, I met the most amazing people there. Small advice...stay another day and go on that tour that they provide: it is absolutely not expensive, it takes almost a full day when you are lucky, and the things I saw...I will never forget them (no spoiler alert 😅)

United StatesTarek did ask me in person if there was anything they could do to improve the hostel, which I appreciated and at the time I couldn’t think of anything until now. If I have to be picky, the door going into the bedroom was a bit squeaky and I felt like I was waking someone up every time I went in or out at night.
Tarek, David, and the owner David’s dad were amazing and all very helpful (and funny).I really felt at home here and extended multiple times. David even helped me carry my things to the bus station the day I was leaving. Bathrooms and rooms were very clean and the rule is to take your shoes off before entering the room which I loved. Also nice lounge area outside the bedrooms and loved the beautiful garden outside to hang out. The tour is amazing and well worth it! Very well organized and they take you to a lot of amazing spots! it’s a long tour though so make sure you’re rested and eat a good meal before. Location excellent, in a quiet neighborhood but still a short walk to the Old town and many restaurants and cafes. Only 5 min walk from bus and train station. Thank you guys! I will be back :)

I love everything about Hostel David. The location is fabulous, about a 7-8 minute walk from the old town. There is plenty to see on the way there. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are sparkling clean. There is a seating area where guests can mingle and chat. Pedja and David are fabulous, they're so welcoming and hospitable. They know a lot about Mostar and are happy to help and give advice. The tour that is offered is amazing. It's so informative and interesting, I could do it every day! All in all, a fabulous stay. I'll be back soon. 🌟

TurkeyI loved everything about this place.
The location is great, it is very close to the train station and coach station in Mostar. Since the city is relatively small, the hostel is also in a walking distance to the sightseeing areas in the city. The hosts are just amazing. They prepared dinner, offered drinks. I am pretty sure that the garden is a great place for hanging out in summer. This is a really nice play to stay.
