Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAll the seats at the beach were full. It was hard for my pregnant wife to get a seat to take a short break. There were staff but looked like they were only helping for tips. Food was not good.
The beach was clean and the distance to the market area was great. You could walk there in 5 minutes.

United Statesthe property is outdated and the cleaning staff don’t clean when they come to the room. the cleaning lady only made the bed and changed the towels. there were toothpaste splashed on the mirror and when we got back to the room after she cleaned, it was still there. I called for maintaining to come fix the sink in the bathroom that was clogged and all they did was come remove the middle piece and leave it on the counter. I got there the Wednesday and kept calling for them to come replace it and I’m yet to see anyone come back. Don’t get me started on the fact that Barcelo encourages their guests to wake up as early as 3 am to go hold chairs by the pool. I’ve been to many hotels and I’ve NEVER in my life experienced that before. People were allowed to hold chairs for the entire day and were not even around using them. I’m so disappointed with everything! the food was awful, thank God we were able to get reservations to the hibachi( food was bland), mexican( food was very tasty) the seafood and steak, we opted out. Barely any variety food choices. The staff was friendly and tried their best but they need a new chef and better policies regarding pool chairs! why should I be on vacation and wake up in the wee hours of the morning to go sleep on lounge chairs until 6 am when I could actually leave my stuff?! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT GOOD FOOD AND A GREAT EXPERIENCE! RIU is three hotels down… stay there! I stayed at RIU twice in Aruba and I wasn’t disappointed once! Barcelo needs a revamp!
I liked nothing about the stay here except the location and the beach.

ItalyThey are very unorganized and make no effort to accomodate basic requests: we were there for 5 nights and has an all inclusive package. When we arrived and tried to make reservations to the included restaurants, we were told that they were all fully booked for our entire stay, which is completely unacceptable. They also allowed conplete wilderness when it came to beach beds and pool beds: people would keep the provided beach towels and go in the middle of the night to put them on beds, chairs and umbrellas to reserve them, to maybe not even show up all day. We were travelling with small children, so one of us had to go down every morning at 7am to try and get a spot and barely found shade. It was absolutely ridiculous and frankly an easy fix (just tell people umbrellas and chairs need to actually be used or unattended stuff will be removed after one hour, or something along these lines). We have been in many all inclusive resorts all around the world, and it was the first time we saw something like this.
The location is great and the property is pretty contained, which was great. Food was very good.

United StatesPaid all this money and had to get up at 5am to find a decent spot at the beach. And if you get up late you won't get a chair. And then they sell day passes . Not enough chairs for paying guests.

United StatesThe food was average at best, dinners there were the best but every other meal was plain, flavorless or inedible. The staff were poorly assigned and there seemed to be countless gaps in communication and staffing. The woman working the front desk during the days was rude, unapologetic and unhelpful. We had no towels, a dead hotel room door battery, mystery additional charges at check out and an impossible to contact customer service phone line. Literally one of the least supportive and accommodating stays we’ve experienced especially during our honeymoon.
The facilities were beautiful and the property was well kept. The pools and beach as well as the towel staff were impeccable. The bellhops were also amazing and remembered us from day one to checkout.

United Statesbuilding is old and smells, lacks cleanliness and sanitation measures, some of staff was rude and did not care about accomodating customers, deluxe is a misleading term, the deluxe ocean view room is really a partial ocean view room and cleary described as a partial ocean front room by the front desk staff, unless you upgrade to premium the resort is not all inclusive, misleading advertising, needs rennovation and staff improvements,
