Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaOld building, a persistent smell right when we entered, but got it fixed by keeping windows open for an extended period of time. Same key for apartment door and entrance door - raises security questions.
Good location, many facilities.

United StatesThe only coffee maker was a Tchibo capsule coffee maker, which seems to be an unwelcome trend in rentals We object to capsule coffee makers in principle due to the waste generated by the capsules, and the expense of the capsules compared to drip coffee makers. The one in our apartment worked, but made a very large noise with a lot of vibration. A simple drip machine with paper filters, or reuseable filters makes excellent coffee with less waste and expense.
Breakfast was not included in our rent. Grocery stores and bakeries are close by and it was easy to get our own supplies. My wife and I travel a great deal and we both feel like this is an exceptional rental in an exceptional location. Too many rentals photograph well but the reality doesn’t meet expectations. This apartment is quality in every way. Good furniture, good bed, good shower and a good kitchen. Utensils in the kitchen are fine for light cooking, but probably not for serious dinners. This apartment is in a historic building from about the 15th century. While maintaining the character of the building, they have installed a lift - very welcome and unexpected amenity. We could easily live in this apartment long-term.

United KingdomA lovely apartment nestled into the rock. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed for a 5 night stay. Check in was easy as we were met by our host at the apartment. The apartment is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to all the beautiful sights of Salzburg and its bars, restaurant and shops. It is also within walking distance to the train station. Situated in the cobbled street of Steingasse it is convenient for both the old and newer part of town. We loved staying at the Steingasse and would definitely stay here again on our return to the beautiful city of Salzburg.

United StatesWould have loved an extra blanket given the extremely cold temperatures, though heat worked well. Would have loved more plush pillows, but overall, great stay.
Fantastic Apartment about a 5 minute walk from Motzart walking bridge to Aldstadt. 10 minute walk from Mirabell Palace. Lots of space, kitchen is well equipped. Check-in and out was easy. Washer was a tremendous plus. Great place to stay for extended time.

United StatesNo toiletries. Have to go buy our own soap, shampoo and conditioner. Grocery was closed. Not convenient after 24 hours of traveling. You are only given one towel per person and asked to do your own laundry if you want a clean towel during your stay. It has a lot of uneven steps and levels in apartment with no automatic lighting. This made it dangerous my husband fell in lobby entrance our first night. We didn’t realize there is a big step to landing as you couldn’t see it.
The apartment was very clean, spacious and has many nice restaurant options close by. Close to everything. Owners very friendly but reception staff doesn’t speak English well.

AustraliaThe apartment does not get a lot of natural light being tucked against the cliff, so you need to have lights on quite a lot.

United StatesWe were on 2nd Floor. When we were there it was very hot not usual for early Sept. the bedroom was located at the back and the only window you could open was next to a stone wall and allowed very musty smelling air into the room. Without opening the window it was very hot. We would have liked a plain sheet for a cover instead of a down blanket. Way too hot.
We loved the location because it was close to the Mozart bridge going into Old Town. The apartment was very comfortable

AustraliaNothing except I wish that these types of places would provide just a little bit of laundry liquid, milk, coffee and enough toilet paper. It takes away from your very limited time on holiday to go searching the shops for these items. Most travellers don’t have space in their luggage for these things.
The apartment is in a beautiful old building with a lot of character in the heart of the old town. It is spacious and clean and had almost everything we needed. It was very quiet at night even though it was centrally located so we slept peacefully.
