Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe hotel is being refurbished so there are some minor building works, some rooms aren't properly finished, the spa wasn't completed and there was no yoga (which is advertised). Food and drinks are expensive! £15 for a small glass of wine. There are no vegetarian or vegan main course options on the menu. The communal areas of the hotel are very small. There are only about 20 sunbeds by the pool and very few other places to sit and relax outside your room.
It's a stunning location up in the hills overlooking the terracotta rooves towards the sea. There restaurant terrace is stunning and has fab views: sip a cocktail and watch the skies turn pink as the sun goes down behind the hills. It's a fantastic old building that's being refurbished in a classic modern style that is both elegant and historic. It's a super romantic space to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our room on the first night (a burst water pipe) and after a hiccup they moved us to a fantastic new room with wonderful sea views. It's a 45 minute walk or a short drive to the beautiful Dhermi beach that has beautiful white sand, aqua blue water and a brilliant fish restaurant.

United Arab EmiratesThere is only one restaurant in the property and it is rather pricey. Food is really good tho. When the design of the rooms is amazing - finishing could be better. Vanity was rather flimsy, I would reconsider hiring the same contractor who did renovation work for them this time. Restaurant Staff is very sweet, but sometimes inattentive. Some requests of ours were just forgotten about.
This place is spectacular! Design, location and esthetics are stunning! Food - delicious. Views- breathtaking. I would love to come back with my husband. They upgraded us for free what was very nice

United KingdomThe restaurant is far too expensive which is a shame. The cheapest wine per glass was £17.50 which compares to £3-4 pounds in most other restaurants. The selection was also limited, especially for vegetarians. Also be aware to park your car at the top of the cobbled area as it can get stuck if you drive it all the way down to reception due to the cobbles being worn and slippy. It is also not particularly well signposted which may be something the hotel should consider adding.
The location is amazing and the hotel is beautiful, particularly the pool area. Comfortable rooms, slightly lacking in storage (no hangers supplied) and no hooks for towels etc

United StatesThe only critique I’d have is that it’s loud. As the rooms are constructed from traditional stone, they’re not soundproof. So when they, say, power wash the stone walkway at 7 is the morning it can be distributive.
This place is incredible, an absolute hidden gem. From the gorgeous views, to the luxury rooms, to the delicious food - it’s the perfect holiday experience.

AustraliaI am very disappointed by this hotel. The only plus about this accommodation is the room. It is NOT worth the price. The staff and the restaurant especially were awful. The food was awful and extremely overpriced- could not eat it and thought it was shocking they could even ask for that price for the meals they were giving- it is has been the most expensive meal of our whole Europe trip so far. Save your money and go elsewhere. The staff were extremely rude- when we would ask for simple things like water etc they would reply very harsh and make it seem as if they had to go out of their way. As two young girls they seemed to put no effort and have zero manners towards us. It was the worst hospitality I have seen at an expensive hotel and do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I left feeling ridiculed by the staff and the bare minimum was not met for a hotel this highly rated.

DenmarkThe hotel advertised that there was a wellness/spa as well as morning yoga that you could sign up for, but neither one of those services were available yet when we arrived. Even though the front desk told us that the resort already existed for 7 years, there was clearly still construction going on all over the place. The first day, they presented us with a very elaborate breakfast menu (even though the majority of the vegetarian options were crossed out), but the days after that we received a continental breakfast that was significantly less in quality than the breakfast of the day before. Furthermore, we had contacted the resort that we would be staying with three people in a junior suite, which advertised online with 1 double bed and a sleeping couch. However, when we arrived, they had simply put a sheet on the sofa in the living room that was not comfortable at all. We then noticed a separate, glass door in our hotel room, and we could see that a fully made bed for 1 person was behind this closed door. When we asked if we could use this room, the front desk answered us that "this room was built for one of the workers during the construction period and not in use". It didn't make any sense to us, because the bed that was situated in that room looked very comfortable and way better than the option that they eventually gave us (an extra spring mattress that they brought up). Also be aware that the road down towards the reception is EXTREMELY slippery. When we wanted to leave the resort one evening, we got stuck on the middle of the hill because the tires of our car could not get any grip on the slippery hill, so we had to pull the handbrake on and call for someone to help us.
The location is absolutely breathtaking - it lies on top of a hill overlooking the entire city of Dhermi. The hotel is seamlessly integrated into the rest of the village, so much so that you do not know where the town starts and the city ends. Our room was incredibly spacious with incredible designer pieces, a balcony overlooking the resort and the city, and a beautiful bathroom.
