The host Salem was very friendly and even gave us a flask of tea to his own recipe to take for the journey home. It was a very authentic place to stay amongst the most beautiful dunes. There wasn't much choice in food but that was good as it made you try the local cuisine which was delicious-cooked by his mum's cook! The tents were extremely comfortable with top quality linen and toiletries. The bathroom a bit basic but is what I expected attached to the side of a tent and everything worked well. Also ask to stay in the tents that are not overlooked by the cycle track as the lights from that disturb the night sky.

We stayed for two days in the desert camp and can only recommend it. Salem is a great host with a mission. He plants thousands of trees in the desert. It is an experience to listen to him and his ambitious plans to green up the valley. The tents are luxurious – nothing is missing. Food is great and the service excellent. The area is large enough so that you stay private in your tent. We booked an additional tour through the dunes with a small buggy. It was not only a fun ride but also a trip where you recognize how different the dunes are. If you have Salem as a guide it is worth the extra cost for sure. If you want something extraordinary in Abu Dhabi, this is the place to go to

We felt safe and welcome at this place! The owner and all the staff are friendly. The desert around is huge and the activities provided by the resort were fun! Tasty food and the tents were well organized and comfort!!

Great local produce food. Magnificent desert surrounding. Exhilirating dune bashing in a buggy, culminating in 200+meter hurle down the dune!! Beautiful sunset on top a dune! Meeting Sami and Brianna, and listening to Sami's stories of the desert and studies abroad!!

Staying at Liwa nights was a transformative experience. From the second we stepped on to the property we were treated with care and unbelievable hospitality. It was beautiful, peaceful, etherial, cultural - we could not ask for more in a getaway.

Having been in the UAE several times, this is the first time I can say I experienced Emirati culture first hand from the lovely Mr Salem and Brianne, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome but with a very close and familial cosiness that made us feel at home among friends. We got treated to local cuisine with recipes from Mr Salem's own family, an introduction to Oud, all about camels, and a visit to a local date farm where we were also welcomed by the owner. The tents couldn't be cosier, and the surroundings are just amazing. The dunes are immense and the whole location is surrounded by tranquility. You can take the electric fatbikes to explore the surroundings any time you want, and if you're of the more adventurous type, there's also the possibility of going dune bashing. At night there's barely any light around so it's easy to stargaze. I'm really looking forward to coming back next year and seeing how this true passion project has developed! There is construction going on for a bike path that is being built and a cell phone tower that ruins the night view.

The dunes in the area are absolutely gorgeous!
