Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomVery limited hot water. Not enough for 3 people to have a normal shower. Very disappointing. Use of ski lockers was an additional cost which wasn't expected from an apartment building which advertises itself as a ski apartment. Rules around not taking ski gear into the apartments so availability of lockers to avoid this should be included in the cost.

United KingdomWe planned to arrive at 5-6 (that’s the time we gave the property), but had some issues therefore only got there closer to 9pm. The reception is only open from 5-8, we therefore asked our friends to check in on our behalf. They collected the key, went to check the property and it was in a dreadful condition. The property wasn’t clean, bedsheets not changed, floors not mopped, used towels everywhere. Our friends notified the reception, and they basically told them that they forgot to clean it. The issue was reported at 6pm and we had to wait till 10:30pm to get it cleaned. If we travelled alone we would have been stuck outside with our luggage in a freezing cold for hours. On top of that, when we finally checked in, we realised that the toilet was broken (the flush button didn’t work), we reported it immediately, but nothing was done. Essentially we were left without a toilet for the whole duration of our stay. The reception kept ignoring our messages, they’d respond once a day saying that they informed the maintenance. Needless to say, nobody came to fix it. Furthermore, previous guests decided it was a good idea to deep fry something in the kettle, so it was full of oil.

United KingdomThe communication was extremely poor. I have never received worse service than I did with the staff here. If you book on booking.com and try to contact them prior to staying, they'll tell you that you need to contact the management of the hotel directly. This is also true when you call them. That is surely not acceptable. I then proceed to contact the number they gave me and nobody picks up. I later find out you can WhatsApp them, so I do and get a response. However during the stay, the person on WhatsApp started ignoring me. When I followed up on booking.com, I was told to go to reception. During my visit, I was unable to find a reception in my building. There is a reception in the next door building but they claim to be run by a different company and instruct you to walk five minutes down the road to another hotel. In addition to this, where are the WiFi instructions? There are none. I have attached my correspondence with the hotel through booking.com and WhatsApp.
The room was spacious and everything was as advertised (other than the WiFi). I'd say good value for money, but read my criticism.

NetherlandsSofa was broken. When we called the next morning they said they could only go an fix it if we had pictures… at that point we were already at the slopes so we had to go back take pictures send them and then they came to fix the sofa (more or less…). Still pretty uncomfortable to sleep on.

United KingdomPoorly maintained and dirty property with missing pillow cases, not enough bed sheets and no duvet covers and dirty duvets. Had to request clean duvets that didn’t arrive until following evening. Shocking!!! No mountain view even though paid £240 extra for that. Heating not working properly either. Didn’t have a cot for our 1 year old baby so I constantly had to worry about a safety of my baby. Check in process absolutely ridiculous, had to queue on the stairs behind their office doors for more than hour to collect the keys!!! Reception said we would be compensated for the stress and troubles our family experienced however they have never actually honoured it. Absolute joke!!!
