We traveled to Fort Lauderdale to attend a wedding so we were only there for a long weekend at the beginning of March. Though we arrived in the rain, the following days were sunny, comfortable and windy. The beach looked inviting but the surf was rough. If you plan on visiting during the Spring, make sure that you select accommodations away from the Spring Break crowd.

Fort Lauderdale has some great quirks and amenities!
Fort Lauderdale has some great quirks and amenities! Las Olas and the water taxis are great fun and affordable to see the Millionaire Mansions that face the water! I also recommend the Jungle Cruise, you see those mansions and also visit a private island for a family style dinner, show and exotic animals in enclosures!

Seems like a nice place.
Seems like a nice place. Just the perfect level of activity, as far as I'm concerned (I'm an 'older' guy). Beautiful beach and interesting restaurants along the beachfront. Lots of students but their behaviour was, for the most part, quite good.
Taxi service was so-so, but we were pleased with our Uber rides. I was surprised by the number of drivers we had who could not speak English. That didn't impact their ability to get us to our destinations but it made minor chit-chat impossible.

We visited the Morikami Japanese Garden and Museum in Delray Beach but booked The Ritz at Bal Harbor the next day. So, we chose the Westin at Ft. Lauderdale as a stopover point for the night. The hotel, its rooms, and the service did not disappoint us.

Spring brake and construction next to the hotel for 7 days...
Spring brake and construction next to the hotel for 7 days was a bit much.
Restaurants are within walking distance which was good. Pretty steep prices for everything from breakfast to dinner.
The bill was incorrect at the hotel as well. He tried to charge us parking spot fee we didn’t need. Wrote down one dollar amount and added additional 60$ on the credit card. Unfortunately I signed without wearing my readers and noticed once back home.

Staff unaccomodating. Very basic (yet pricey) rooms.
Staff unaccomodating. Very basic (yet pricey) rooms. Not one positive comment about this place. All railings and walkways were dirty. I’m not a germiphobe and I was disturbed. My wife wouldn’t sleep under the sheets!

I was on a late flight to Fort Lauderdale, while in the air I got a cancellation email. With no reason they cancelled my reservation and I didn’t have a place to stay when we arrived at 1am. The receptionist didn’t have an explanation on why it was cancelled and couldn’t send me an email to guarantee that I will not be charged . This a terrible place , I had to go back to the airport and sleep on the floor!!! I need an explayaron on why my reservation was cancelled and a certification from Booking.com that I won’t be charged.
This was our second visit to the Lago Mar, albeit 18 years ago we were there the first time. We came back for the pleasant atmosphere and vibe and we were not dissappointed. Time is standing still when in the Lago Mar, relaxing around resort and beach. Sure, time has taken it's toll on the property, but in a good way. Everything is nicely kept in what could be the 1960's. Don't expect a minimalistic, modern hotel, but a charming Florida decor. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Surely we will be back.
Everything about Hotel Maren was perfect. The staff was lovely. The location was perfect. The hotel is directly across from the beach, and in walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops. The room was clean and we had a beautiful marina view. The food and drinks we had at the restaurant down in the lobby and by the pool were very good! Overall this was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at and it worth every penny! When we go back to Fort Lauderdale, we will be booking at Hotel Maren.
It’s my go to hotel in Fort Lauderdale, I have been there 8 times in different situations, this time with the family and booked 3 rooms. The location is amazing, at the beach and has free parking. Pool is available, water is warm. Restaurant at the premises, not crazy expensive and Adriano was amazing server. Fast check in, everyone super nice at the front desk. Beds are very comfortable, pillows and blanket too. Rooms are a little outdated but very clean.
When first entering the hotel it's bright, clean and spacious lobby area. Location is perfect, next to volleyball nets and kids playgroud on the beach. Only 20 minute walk to plenty of great restaurants on Los Olas Blvd along the beach.
Our room was spacious and clean. We had a partial ocean view which was nice to see the sunrise in the morning. The pool area was clean and well maintained, beach towls provided for both beach and pool area.
Location is great, about 10 minutes from FLL airport. The rooms are always clean, front desk staff courteous and efficient, and the breakfast is also good, although I don't usually eat much, just a yogurt and fruit. Lots of selection though of breakfast sandwiches, cereal, etc. Also, if you request a ride to the airport from the hotel, they will request a free Uber ride for you. Great place to stay during a long layover.
An outside Hot Tub, an amazing modern big Gym with all you need an water treatment, really comfort. Towel Service. Direct on the beach with Jet Ski and 10 min. away by car from the Center and Center beach with nice Restaurants and Bars. Big room with Balcony and side beach view with a bit charming "Motel Style". Amazing comfortable big Bed. Supermarket a few min. away. Big Parking Space. Beach/ snacks Shop in the hotel.
This hotel/resort is perfect for anyone looking for a stay that is outside of downtown in a quieter area. There are plenty of restaurants within 0.5 mile of the hotel. They will set up lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach every morning which is very convenient. I have come here 2 years in a row for spring break, and it is worth every penny! Highly recommend!
The location is really nice, 15 mins to walk on the beach
The reception guys are really nice, all of them, very kind
A lot if parking lots available
The best one was the Block C room with a balcony (we had here 3 different rooms)
The worst was the 1st floor room in the Block B (too wet there and everybody is walking near your door, too loud)
I appreciate the fact that the hotel is within walking distance to the beach. Fort Lauderdale Beach, in particular, is nice because it's not overly crowded. Additionally, the hotel offers good value for its price, and the room I stayed in was clean. The staff are friendly, and check in and out is easy, its a affordable.
Close to airport and cruise ship. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. Room very confortable. We appreciated the free shuttle service to get to the hotel from the airport. Hotel arranged shuttle to get to the port. Thank you to all the staff.
The property is very close to the cruise terminal which is why we stayed. It is in a quieter area of Fort Lauderdale which we really enjoyed. the beach was great and the pool was awesome! All the employees were so pleasant and welcoming.
It was close to the ocean. The property was a collection of refurbished hotels with many different pools, lots of palm trees and vegetation. It was like a little oasis in the middle of the madness of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Walking distance to the beach. Very close to my favorite spot - Fort Lauderdale. Room was very clean! We will definitely come back! And we could see sunshine from the balcony!! Amazing hotel! 🌅🌅🌅
It was a very nice surprise to find this accommodation on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. Nestled between the expensive high rises, this dated but clean gem withstands the giants!
The Best host I ever met in Florida very friendly and helpful
The apartment has wonderful view in a great location inside a hotel with beach access and swimming pool
The convenience stores and restaurants, convined with the close location to beach and airport make this hotel the best option to crash one or two nights on FLL
