Went to Lome right after Cotonou in Benin Republic, and it was a let down. I had to leave earlier than planned, asides the beach, the club scene isn't active except from Fridays as stated by the locals. Also you really do not have a lot of entertainment options.
If you also planned to go to the waterfall like me, keep in mind it is in the far north and about 10 hours from Lome.
I loved that beach was accessible though, I'm from Nigeria and most beaches in Lagos are commercialized, unlike in Lome where you can work into them from the market, hotels etc.

Lome is good, but experienced very unfriendly unwelcoming people out there. Unfriendly touts or drivers who know they are driving you to wrong place but due language barrier they still proceed. Immigration officers are corrupt and unprofessional almost making foreigners loose their flights for unnecessary soliciting procedures. The hotel is a perfect facility but lacking good supervision in cleaning and bedding and towels need to be improved. Old discolored towels should be out of shelves.

I chose this hotel for an extra 2 nights at the end of a 15 day tour of Togo and Benin. It is very near to the Port and there is nowhere to go for a walk apart from the beach. I could not fault my room as everything worked as during my trip there was always some problem when something didn't work in the room. There was even a fridge! It fitted my needs as I just wanted to rest. I asked for a taxi to take me to the airport. An old non air conditioned car turned up which I found to be most disappointing as I had expected a taxi! That was the only negative comment as I didn't need a hotel with a more central position for sightseeing etc..

Could not have much time to roam around the city due to other commitments to works. But one can just cross the road in front of the hotel and enter into the sands, where an evening walk and fresh air from the sea will definitely relax and recharge you. There are places to drink and eat something near the road, while breathing fresh outside air from the sea. While awaiting your drinks/foods at the open restaurants, don't surprise if some local sellers pass by your chairs sometimes trying to sell some local products and you can bring happiness for each other.
Being able to watch the scenery of ships lined up at night to enter the port. The view is perfect at night.
The Staff, especially the Cleaning crew went beyond the call of duty. They were flexible in their tight schedule and often allowed me to relax and extend my hours of sleep without being disturbed.
The Reception Staff would also call in the morning to make sure I do not miss Breakfast. I think this was remarkable and speaks volumes about the Hotel caring about its guests.
If you are looking for a place not expensive and if you don't mind not to be in the center of the city , Sagbado hotel is just perfect . The owner and his mother are wonderful people who try to do do
everything possible to make your stay a real pleasure . Nice big room with fan , TV in the common area , delicious breakfast and most important the feeling that you are at home . I had a 3 day booking but I am going to stay a month .
The Staff were very professional, with good customer service. The hotel facilities were very comfortable, with a lovely rooftop swimming pool and sky bar. Breakfast was very nice, a buffet with a lot of variety. My upgrade suite also had a washer for laundry. And the "icing on the cake", was the owner, CEO IOKA, who was a perfect gentleman and very accommodating.
The hotel was situated just off the highway. The rooms are nice, small but clean. The air-conditioning worked very well. And a roof top terrace bar and restaurant. Had a very lovely breakfast. The staff and Manager ( Ms. SESSOU ), at Grace Lodge Hotel were very nice and helpful. The Night view at the roof top bar was very nice.
The rooms were large. There was a balcony with sea view. They fulfilled my wish to have a room with view. Especially good was that they gave us one of the two rooms free of charge until the late afternoon before going to the airport. So we could use the pool and take a shower after a day of exploring Lomé. Fantastic!
I liked the hotel, its position and the personnel. They immedietaly responded to my request to change my room from the ground floor to the first floor due to the condition of the former. I liked the dining area and the resting areas. I felt welcome and safe.
Highly dedicated staff, extremely nice and helpful. The room was nice, good value for money in Lomé for a short business trip. The sky restaurant & bar has a nice Indian menu, with a real Indian chef. Free airport shuttle.
Everything. Amazing hotel and amazing facilities.
And the staff were exceptional.
I had unfortunately forgotten my watch but they were so helpful in finding it and coordinating its return.
Thank you so much to everyone!
