Location right on the beach and on safe, quiet street lined with beachfront restaurants with fresh seafood and friendly locals. Perfect for a budget traveler. Nice place to feel more immersed in the country. Not some resort bubble.
More like a bed and breakfast/hostel feel. Rooms clean, simple with own bathroom and A/C. Shared kitchen to store food and cook if you like. Great place to meet fellow travelers, cook and eat. The manager, Marie is the best and also stays in the hotel. She knows the town and makes sure you have what you need or where to get it. Internet was good and I was able to do work remotely. They communicated with me consistently before I came and Marie even picked me up from the airport (30 min away) when my flight arrived at 2am! ( It was a $35 fee, but well worth it. A taxi at that hour would have been twice that much. It was also relief to not try to start navigating a new country in the middle of the night)
