Welcome to Bluemoon Studio, our cozy family cottage and studio. We’re located in expansive tropical gardens, 300 meters above the Roseau Valley—a world away and just ten minutes from the capital city of Roseau, with easy access to hiking trails and hot springs. The Studio is self-sufficient and well equipped with a galley kitchen, a queen-sized bed and laundry facilities on the premises. Private, and tranquil accommodation for couples and individual travelers—ideal for a Dominica vacation.

Hello, I'm Kathy. I was born in Dominica but moved with my family to Barbados for many years. With a deep yearning to return to my homeland, Dominica - because of my love of Nature and to have the freedom of running my own business, I decided to return in late 2010. With a love for arts & crafts, and this desire for job freedom, I started my own jewelry business - making unique hand made jewelry pieces mainly in copper, brass and beach glass. My degree in Hotel Management served as a good background when, a few years later, came the management of my brother's property, Bluemoon Cottage and Studio for short term vacation rentals. I enjoy the beautiful nature of Dominica, simple living as well as meeting and welcoming our guests at Bluemoon Cottage & Studio.

Bluemoon Cottage and Studio is located towards the south-western end of the island at an altitude of 1,000 ft. (300 m.) near the village of Morne Prosper, in an area well known for its production of vegetables and kitchen herbs, lush green vegetation and cool breezes. Average daytime temperatures generally vary from 24 °C (75.2 °F) in January to 30 °C (86 °F) in June. A five-minute walk to the east will bring you to Segment 3 of the Waitikubuli National Hiking Trail, while within a ten-minute drive you’ll be able to bask in the hot Sulphur Springs. The Boiling Lake, the second largest boiling lake in the world, awaits at the distance of a fifteen-minute drive and a three-hour hike. Dominica is home to a small group of sperm whales which live in the area year-round and can be sighted regularly. Wherever you are on the island, you’ll see exotic birds. Dominica is also home to 172 species of birds, including four species of hummingbird and the Sisserou Parrot which is indigenous to Dominica.
