Ate on Dupont Street - lots of casual places with character.
Ate on Dupont Street - lots of casual places with character. Transit very easy to navigate. Coffee and gelato excellent at Mizzica's. Would not bother with Hockey Hall of Fame - far too corporate and NHL -oriented.

It was over 40 years between visits to Canada and my first time in Toronto, it did not dissapoint. Toronto is a big city and you are spoilt for choice with where to stay. We stayed downtown as it was close to conference venue. You will want to spend time exploring the different neighbourhoods and if you get time, I would recommend a tip down to Hamilton and to Niagra. All serviced by the clean and reliable GO trains from Union station. Cose to the city I recommend walking through Kensington Market - which is a district rather than a market. On the weekend this place is heaving. You have a pletohra of great restaurants and a people watching paradise. Closer to downtown, a walk along King and Queen streets will reward you with street art, quirky shops, some of the best vintage stores I have been in and food options galore. Can also recommend a wander through Chinatown (Between Queen St and Kensington Market. The Distillery District is worth a look if you have time. The old distillery makes for an interesting backdrop to new residental buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. The UP trains from the airport (Pearson) to the city are your best option to get into the city. Around $12 and about 25 minutes - well worth it and a lot cheaper than taxis and Uber. Enjoy!

I am no stranger to Toronto as I worked for The City of Toronto at Toronto City Hall for 40 years. Toronto is an exciting City to visit. It’s so clean, the people are super friendly, there are so many different types of food and restaurants to enjoy, so many wonderful attractions to visit - a trip on the Ferry to Centre Island is a must during the warm summer months, the Aquarium, take in a Toronto Blue Jays game, walk to St Lawrence Market. Visit beautiful Nathan Phillips square anytime of the year. Make sure to spend a day at the Toronto Zoo too.!!!! Go to The Pint right across the street for a pint and some delicious food and hang out with all the Blue Jays fans!!!!

I particularly liked the waterfront parks, the Luminiere exhibit was lovely.
CN tower was so-so, but the Aquarium was excellent. The Princess of Wales Theater is a lovely, contemporary theater and the production of Les Miserables that I attended was fantastic. Food very good - particularly at Vagabondo Italian, and Dessert Lady coffee shop.

For non American / Canadians Toronto is expensive.
For non American / Canadians Toronto is expensive. For restaurants bars etc you can pretty much add 50% to what you think you are going to pay by the time the tax is added then the pretty compulsory tip (Gratuity)
Public transport is good and reliable and not too expensive.
What did we like? Everything! The staff was exceptional, catered to our every need, shuttle drivers were prompt and helpful. Perfect for staying and commuting to downtown Toronto by train. The gym facility is top notch as well as the property in general. Daily housekeeping was seamless as a lot of hotels only offer this by request due to covid. Rohan saw to our needs at breakfast and he was truly the highlight of our hospitality experience but all of the staff went above and beyond. We will be staying here whenever we visit Toronto.
What I liked is that the subway nr. 1 is literally under the hotel and you can get to downtown Toronto in ab. 40 minutes (to Union station for ex.) without the need to change to another line.
The room is nice and comfortable and there is a Nespresso machine with free coffee in the room.
I also liked that there are plenty of food options nearby (Greek fast food, pizza, Subway, Starbucks, Asian food), a local supermarket Loblaw is next door, so you can do your shopping easily. There is also a cinema close.
The room was extremely spacious with large sofa, writing table and kitchen sink area too. The room was very clean, there is a very large flat screen TV too. It's perfect for family of 4. The hotel provided free breakfast with hearty selections. On certain days, there are somebody doing the omelette for you too. The gym well maintained and clean too. This is by far the best hotel I stayed thorough my 14 days stay in canada. Highly recommend for stay near airport.
The best feature of this hotel is the location.
It is minutes away from the subway. This means you get easily to and from the airport and the harbour area.
The subway and street car system is convenient and pretty good value for getting around.
The hotel is also a walkable distance to most of the main downtown attractions.
Yonge-Dundas Square is a 10 minute walk.
It is close to a fabulous supermarket & LCBO - 5 minutes PLUS plenty of places to eat.
It had an amazing breakfast, great location, and I was I love with our room. I have never stayed in a hotel in Toronto so I’m very glad this was my first one. I was looking for a hotel in the downtown district so I could walk everywhere and this was exactly what I needed. Check in took me like 1 minute which made getting there even better. Worth every dollar. p.s. the bed was so comfy.
Perfect hotel for spending 48 hours on Toronto. The location of the Chelsea is great for reaching downtown Toronto. The CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Harbour are about a 20-30 minute walk. For the ubiquitous Toronto photo at New City Hall it's about 10 minutes.
The employees are very helpful and friendly and our room was a great size and clean. The shower was fabulous!
The hotel staff were able to check us in a little earlier and we really appreciate the flexibility since we had to leave for downtown Toronto and wouldn't be back until midnight. The breakfast was conventional American type. I always love hotel breakfast and Holiday Inn doesn't disappoint. We're able to see the taxiway from our room, which is nice.
This hotel was SUPER expensive. Yes, I know it's in downtown Toronto. Still ... The bathroom was super small; you had to leave it to change your mind. A new tax was added to our bill without our being informed. When I phoned about this, the man who answered was most unhelpful. However, a week later I got an email explaining the matter.
It´s an old traditional hotel of great standing in a great location downtown Toronto with all the good and bad that comes along. Classic rooms, great restaurants and great attention from staff. A a gold card member we got an upgrade during our check in and that based on attentive work from reception staff. Well done and appreciated !
The location of the hotel is good and close by to downtown Toronto. The metro is also near by and very convenient for us to go places. We didn’t have an issues finding the hotel and the parking lot is around the corner. The staff was very kind and help us with whatever we need. We definitely love our stay.
Great location, right by Donlands subway station which gets you to Downtown easily. I stayed in the bunk room in the little apartment at the top.
Lovely, friendly staff, clean and good value for money. I stayed at 3 hostels during my time in Canada and this was the best one - thank you!
The location was good.
It's highly recommended for those people who were from far places of Canada and were just coming over Toronto to attend for their US visa interview at the US embassy.
The US embassy was just around the corner. It's 4 minutes walk from Rex Hotel.
Pros
-Very close to the CN Tower, location can’t get any better for anyone visiting Downtown Toronto
-Luxury appeal and great furniture in the unit which was nice
-Nice local shops around for Restaurant and Bars
-Host was quick to reply regarding questions
The room was very confortable. The Hotel is centrally located in Downtown Toronto and with easy access to shoping and retaurants. Indeed it was also very quite with adequate breakfast despite the Covid restictions.
This is an ideal place to stay right downtown Toronto. Its very clean and affordable and offers the same amenities, compared to the traditional hotels. The staff was very friendly, patienty and helpful.
Situated in proximity to the airport and 25 min to
downtown Toronto.
The weekend staff ( front desk, breakfast buffet)
were helpful and always available to answer any
requests
Very nice hotel and stuff, we love the location and comfort.
Shuttle to and from Airport was excellent.
Few restaurants around, very easy to get to downtown Toronto.
Best hotel shower I've ever had. Amazing water pressure!
For ~$138/nt including tax and including breakfast, it was a very good deal for being downtown Toronto.
Clean, quiet hotel/room. Good breakfast included in my price. Good location, close to the airport, not a long drive to Toronto downtown or Niagara Falls.
