Nestled in the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, this hotel has plenty of rustic charm and picturesque views over the surrounding garden and countryside. Location, was not in the center of the noice. Very quiet and yet super close to the center.

Set in Quintana de Soba, Balcón de la Len offers accommodation with free WiFi, mountain views, and access to a hot tub. A barbecue and a terrace are available for guests at the country house to use. It would have been difficult to have been treated better and almost impossible to find a more relaxing location with breathtaking views. The hosts were perfect; available on the phone at any time and quick to respond to any messages. The accommodation was ideal for our needs and indeed we have taken away a good few ideas for a property we are renovating (thank you Meli). We stayed for four nights and wish it had been longer; the area is one of truly astounding natural beauty and is the perfect location to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. The village itself is very pretty and the locals equally welcoming and happy to chat. One can walk from the property to local restaurants which provide wholesome economical food and a warm welcome. We have lived in a very beautiful part of the Mediterranean Coast of Spain for over 20 years in one of the most scenic valleys imaginable, or at least we thought so until we came to sample the delights of this gorgeous village in the Cantabrian mountains with fields of freely roaming livestock all around and the backdrop of awe inspiring mountains with free flowing rivers and streams with pretty cascading falls all within pretty easy walking distance, albeit up and down hill. Parking was super simple in a private spot right beside the property, but not such that your car blocks the view. We visited the coast whilst we were there which is around 40 minutes by car through sensibly wide mountain roads (windy, but easy to drive) and also took a trip to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim (just over an hour), but it was lovely to pop to the local "supermarket" (corner shop) and buy some bits to enjoy a picnic.

Situated in Quintana de Soba, 60 km from Santander, Camino de la Torre - Ruralsoba boasts a barbecue and views of the mountain. Collados del Asón Natural Park is located 2.5 km away from the property.... Nice location with own parking and entrance. Very friendly and helpful owner.

LA CABAÑA offers accommodation in Cillorigo de Liebana, 31 km from Llanes. Guests benefit from a private garden with barbecue facilities. Free WiFi is available. It's a comfortable apartment - not huge, but cosy. Ojedo is small, but there's a nice place just down the hill - for a drink and/or something to eat. We had a nice time staying here for 4 days. The owner us right up the street - in case you need anything.

El Alto de Marín in Hoznayo provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. It is located 22 km from Santander Port and provides a tour desk. The attention and care are outstanding by all personnel, managers and workers. The country house is a sweet little dream. The rooms are pristine and what you could dream from a rural house.

Finca Artienza has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Ramales de la Victoria. The property features river and garden views. The magnificent mountain setting, the spaciousness of the apartment, and our great host, Joaquin.

Set in Ajo, the property is located at a fabulous distance from the beach , Posada de Ajo offers free WiFi. One of the best hotel we stayed so far during our trip. Super location, super host....a dog who wanted to play non stop. Silence. It was top

Posada El Hidalgo is located in Valdecilla, just outside the Cabárceno Nature Reserve. This country house has a charming porch overlooking the garden and countryside. Everything was wonderful 😊💞

Offering a picturesque setting, this charming country house features an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi. It is located in Secadura, 10 minutes’ drive from the beaches on the Cantabrian coast. This was our first stop off on a road trip through Spain and Portugal and what a great choice it proved to be. We received the warmest of welcomes, the room was lovely; clean and comfortable and the setting was simply beautiful. After a long drive, we enjoyed a pre-dinner walk along the little lanes that run up into the hills. Our charming host prepared a very nice homely dinner which we ate on the terrace. Both the room, and the meal, which included wine, were outstanding value for money. Given the price, it would be hard not to give this a ten out of ten.
