People we met throughout the city were friendly and welcoming. They seemed ready to accommodate tourists with open arms. We recommend taking a walking tour to get a sense of the city and its history. Biltmore was fabulous-even in the rain. The staff at Biltmore went out of their way to resolve an unexpected issue we encountered. Asheville deserves its reputation as a "foodie town." We didn't allocate enough time to see and do all we wanted.

There are a lot of weird, nasty looking people around, comprised of a variety of dirty homeless people, hippies, and sexual deviants. They generally keep to themselves, however, and we always felt safe exploring Asheville's many fine attrations.

Asheville is a beautiful city with friendly people and lots to do. No one I've ever talked to has had anything but the best things to say about this town! Everything is compact and easy to get to. We ate at Ida's Bistro - food was good, dessert was great, but service was not so good (server didn't know the specials and then presented them badly, he seemed indifferent. We heard the manager describe the same specials to the table next to ours and the description sounded Sooooo much better!). We also had dinner at the Bistro at Biltmore's Antler Hill Village. Was a little pricey, but the quality of the food was really great, and the service spot-on.

This was our first visit to Asheville due to attending a wedding. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in the Downtown area and everything was in an easy 3-4 block walking distance. We had no idea that this area was such a gem as a foodie place with the diverse selection of good restaurants (Spanish, French, Japanese, Brasilian, Italian, Mexican etc.), wine bars, craft breweries and interesting stores and shops plus the history with the Vanderbilt family influence as well as the four nearby colleges/universities. This is a fun place that we intend to return to in the future.

Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people.
Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people. It’s a little chilly in the winter so dress in layers. If you plan to visit the Biltmore it’s a whole day trip visit the winery without kids cause the lines are long especially on weekends. Downtown parking is crazy on the weekends so pay attention, be ready to Walk a little and if you visit Double D’s have cash on hand. Sometimes it rains unexpectedly have a umbrella handy
We had a very nice stay at the Windsor. The hotel has an ideal location for a foodie tour of downtown Asheville. We walked to Curate, Chai Pani, Cucina24, and there were so many other choices. The room was very well stocked, we especially liked the coffee set up in the room, full kitchenette and complimentary drinks in the lobby. The service was very good with great communication and lots of information when we needed it. The king bed was comfortable and the bedroom was very quiet and dark (off the street).
The hotel is very new with welcoming staff and beautiful decorations. The room is spacious, clean and beautiful. I like the fact that there was a vanity table in addition to the bathroom mirror and a full-length floor mirror, which is great for us to get ready for a wedding. The staff was super welcoming and able to accommodate us for early check-in and late check-out. The location is great, which is walkable to multiple restaurants, boutique stores, bars, and galleries.
All was wonderful including the politeness and attentiveness of the cleaning professionals. The front area people were attentive, friendly, insiteful and helpful in every way. The valets were great. Breakfast wonderful. I really enjoyed the location of my room. The little happy hour fit the bill and certainly the dog friendliness of the hotel added to the overall charming ambience. Arras definitely was a major plus for my stay in Asheville.
Breakfast was average. Server was professional and provided great customer service. Location is ideal for those visiting Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville. T.G.I.F Fridays restaurant attached to hotel was subpar. Took quite awhile to get meal and when arrived cooked broccoli was raw, lettuce in salad was brown. Server was apologetic for taking so long to bring our meal.
everything was super clean!!!!! from now on this will be the go to hotel to stay at when in Asheville! this location really upped their game. really enjoyed seeing good products being used in the showers. great shampoos and body lotions. not that usual cheap hotel stuff. just WOW! definitely coming back! for a 3 star hotel you get a 5 star bed and bathroom.
The location and price was excellent. Knew this was an older property and 2.5 star rating. Was a little skeptical initially but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean but somewhat dated decor. Traveled with another couple for a weekend getaway. Extremely convenient to all downtown attractions. Would recommend with realistic expectations!
The location was excellent, right in the middle of downtown Asheville. The staff was 100% responsive to any requests. The room was quiet and clean, with a great view! The food and service at Hemingway’s was excellent. The hotel was also within walking distance of several nearby hiking/walking trails.
A refurbed motel but none the worse for it. Convenient to park car outside, and roomy room
with good fittings and shampoo etc.
Very good value compared to other hotels in Asheville.
Stayed 3 nights and would stay again. No food except ok breakfast but restaurants nearby.
The location was great - walkable to the heart of downtown Asheville. The rate was also good compared to other hotels in the area. The Downtown Inn does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it was clean and the staff were friendly.
Almost new hotel in close proximity (walking) to historic downtown. Very friendly employees from the front desk to the security personnel. Zero complaints. Just a bit sketchy neighborhood but most of Asheville is like that.
Breakfast was pretty good for the 'breakfast included' types of hotel breakfast and included hot items. Staff was very nice, room was clean. Easy location to get into downtown Asheville.
Location was great, walking distance of basically every attraction in downtown Asheville, left the car at the hotel and didn’t have to use an Uber or bus to go out.
