The location is very good. It's a few minutes away from Santa Marta, which is nice because it's in a quiet, peaceful location. And there is security to limit entry and exit from the facility. The place has everything you need for a relaxed extended stay. There are a couple restaurants, bars, several pools, a small store if you need a few basic items, and a private beach with shaded areas to sit and enjoy the view. The absolute best thing about Santorini is the staff! Everyone was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The man at the check-in desk is bilingual, which was very helpful, especially with my poor Spanish ability. The place exceeded my expectations and we had an excellent, relaxed stay here.

Location was nice. Had a rooftop pool and bar. I didn't swim or have drinks. I was able to sit out and get some fresh air late that evening. It looked fun.

I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the hotel and how attentive the staff was from beginning to end. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time from before I landed in Santa marta to making sure I had safe and reliable transportation back to the airport. They were always there to help with anything and recommend great places to eat or activities to do nearby. I would recommend them to anyone visiting Santa marta.

We were expecting a beautiful beach with sunbeds, but it didn´t look very appealing to spend time there, so we had to go to Rodadero instead, it is of course crowded there, but the beach is nicer. The service is unfortunately not better and we also couldn´t find sunbeds at the beach, just chairs and the price was exagerated

Santa marta is a nice place for a good vacation. It’s easily accessible with short connecting flights from bogota, Medellin and Panama City. The city is affordable and safe. Taxis are relatively cheap and safe making getting around easy.

Santa Marta is a cool little town.
Santa Marta is a cool little town. It seems more like the "local" vacation spot where Colombians go to vacation or the beach. My group seemed to be the only Americans in town. We found some great local restaurants and everyone was very nice. Very few English speakers though.
Everyone recommends Playa Blanca - but it's only accessible by boat. We chose Playa Rodadero in town and it was fun. Lots of merchants constantly asking you to buy things though.

Santa Marta is a nice city, but its historic town isn't of...
Santa Marta is a nice city, but its historic town isn't of the same caliber as Cartagena. It is smaller and much less restored/developed. There is one long lane running through the historic district that has a lot of restaurants and cafes. The beach in Santa Marta proper is not very nice and is reported to be polluted. Given that there is a marina on one end and a large port for container ships on the other that is easy to believe. El Rodadero is a nice area, but again the caliber of the restaurants and cafes is not nearly that of Cartagena and it is much more of a party town than Boca Grande in Cartagena.
The location of the place is excellent, just in front of the bay, and very close to the old city which has a really nice offer of restaurants and night clubs.
The place is unique because it is a very old building with an interesting vibe. Breakfast was good, eggs mostly, but good and enough for a good eater!
Don Omar, the man who received us at the hotel has contact with Don José a very nice guy who offers touristic plans to go to Tayrona Park or Palomino or Taganga and some other interesting places close to Santa Marta.
First of all the location of the hotel is perfect right on the Plaza de los Novios. We wanted a place from which we could go easily out at night for a drink and from what we 've heard it isn't prudent to walk in lonely streets in Santa Marta at night. There you were in the right spot. There wasn't a noise problem in the room, we slept well. The place is beautiful and well decorated. The room was spacious and clean. There was hot water. The stuff helped us a lot. Nice breakfast included as well.
The staff at Don Pepe were the best we encountered on our whole 1 month trip. Everyone was so friendly and smiley, and went out of their way to be helpful and to make our experience even better. The check-in drink was delicious and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've had on our trip. The location is exactly where you would want to stay in Santa Marta and the rooftop with amazing views and sun trap was a great addition. This is the best place to stay if you are visiting Santa Marta
Great hotel and amazing staying. It is a small but has everything you need to enjoy this Caribbean beach. I think it’s the best in Santa Marta.
What we loved the most, was the breakfast. It was great.
As you may know the water of this beach is not crystal clear but it is because of the sand color. Water is clean and temperature amazing. I don’t remember any beach with a better water temperature and I had visited many beaches around the world. So it is highly recommended.
We only stayed one night on our way to Cartegena, but would definitely recommend Casa Verde. Great location in Santa Marta, close to Parque de los Novios and lots of shops and restaurants. We arrived early, left our bags and came back at check in time to find our bags in our rooms.
Cute, old hotel in SM with helpful staff and a good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.
such a cute hotel. the bed was super comfortable. the shower had hot water which I found was hard to come by in Santa Marta at the Airbnb’s I had booked. I loved the private little pool and balcony up top. breakfast was good. the staff were very friendly. if you stay here you MUST eat at Guasimo directly across the street. I wish I could’ve stayed here longer!
Lovely small hotel in a great location, a couple of minutes walk to everything in the centre of Santa Marta. It is far enough away to be quiet but an easy walk everywhere. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is simple but good. The rooftop is lovely for sitting in the hammocks or in the pool. The internet is fairly good.
I had a two day layover out near the airport there after leaving Santa Marta, and I knew that there were some good beaches within easy walking distance of this hotel. There are a few small stores and Family-style eating establishments in the immediate area, but nothing too fancy.
El Cactus in Santa Marta continues to be our favorite hotel in Colombia and we stay here every time we are in the neighborhood. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly, go over the top for special occasions, and we love our rooftop suite.
Our room hat a great view of the ocean and the mountains. It was very fresh in spite of the scorching sun in Santa Marta. In the back part of the hotel there is a estuary, where flocks of cranes and others birds can be seen.
The hotel is really close to the beach and restaurants. It is clean and was nice to stay in. The staff was really helpful about local tours and helped us get to the National Park that is a main attraction in Santa Marta.
Excellent hotel in a great location near the centre of Santa Marta's main strip. The staff are wonderfully kind and helpful. Room is large and comfortable, with a good bed and great shower. Highly recommend.
This hotel is located very centrally in Santa Marta, a great location, near everything. They were very nice and helped me with a few things when I needed help. The breakfast was delicious!
Clean, spacious rooms in comparison with other similar priced hotels in the centre of Santa Marta. comfortable bed. Nice bar area and good swimming pool.
