La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes.
La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes. It has a high altitude, recommend altitude pills. The city has varying heights, for instance you are going up and down a mountain to get to the other side of the city. When you are on top you can see the bowl with many many houses. There is a cable car to take you from the bottom of the mountain and one neighborhood to the top of the mountain to another neighborhood. There are several beautiful landscapes in La Paz. Valley of the moon, valley of the souls, etc... There is also a lot of shopping in the city.

An authentic South American large city still evolving.
An authentic South American large city still evolving. Everywhere you go you realized this is not for tourists, this is really a nation which has its own identity and you feel it in everything. If you don't speak Spanish then get ready to learn. People very friendly, and living history everywhere. Leave a day for the 2 hour trip to the jungle area for the La Senda Verde animal rescue area.

La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind!
La Paz: A 3-day whirlwind! Explored history on a city tour, felt the passion of a football match, embraced culture in El Alto markets, conquered fear on Death Road, and soared above in the teleférico. Bolivia's heart revealed in a compact, unforgettable adventure.

La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes.
La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes. Its cable car transport system is both practical and a spectacular treat for tourists. It is far better to use this than to use ground transport; the roads in the city are chaotic. The people are friendly and helpful, there are very good restaurants. From La Paz a traveller has access to amazing places to visit, from Lake Titicaca, at over 4000 metres above sea level, to the Yungas, which form part of the Amazonian basin forest system. You have to be careful to have a heart and blood-pressure check before visiting La Paz, as its altitude can be stressful for anyone with a heart condition. But I have been there on a number of occasions, and find it fascinating. The street life and the many local gifts based on alpaca and llama wool are two special features.

Unique setting of the city with striking views and snow covered Illimany on the background. We had one day and spent it driving cable cars and celebrating St. John in the park.

The hotel is well located right in the heart of the historical area within walking distance of many attractions. It is a very large hotel geared up to tour groups. Unfortunately there is limited access to floors by lift so there is a lot of stair climbing involved which may or may not bother you.
The room, albeit relatively small, had everything you might need.
The buffet breakfast was reasonable although they didn't offer anything cooked to order as do other hotels in La Paz.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
Ambiance: Stepping into the Patio de Piedra is like stepping back in time. This beautifully restored colonial house boasts character and charm, with its carved wooden details and a central courtyard. It feels more like a luxurious home than a hotel.
Overall: If you're looking for a unique and charming place to stay in La Paz, with a touch of history and excellent service, the Patio de Piedra Hotel Boutique is a perfect choice.
Secure, clean, bug free room with a surprisingly big bathroom and an effective heater (freezing at night in Bolivia in August).
Its also a great location right next to a lot of the shops, Witches Market, walkable to the squares and historical buildings.
Good wifi, good staff. They also held my bags for multiple days while on a climbing expedition and felt very safe and nothing got stolen or misplaced.
Hotel is extremely clean and new. We had two adjoining rooms, which the staff accommodated for us at check in. The staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast was included. You are in the center of La Paz and can walk everywhere. Traffic is a nightmare so being in the city center is kind of important. We stayed twice during our whole trip because the value for money was great.
Spacious and clean room, loved the floorboard instead of carpet. Location is central and walkable to major city attractions.
Staff was very helpful to assist with our room change request and an airport taxi. It is a very old outdated hotel building which has seen its glory in the past but nevertheless, we appreciated the space we have in the room and everything was functional.
The stuff was amazing. From the begnning Rosa helped us to organize pick up from the airport as we arrived at 2am, so it was amazing to have someone come. She helped as well with turistic stuff. Additionally Helen was super nice, gave us advises about markets and did amazing breakfast, on our last day she even prepered typical bolivian breakfast. GREAT WOMEN!
Breakfast was excellent. the staff was ready to prepare a wonderful omelette or a superb fruit salad.
The hotel is part of an old fransiscan monastery and is full of colonial and bolivian history.
The staff is really welcoming. Since our bus was only departing at night, we are allowed to wait in the hotel.
We've now stayed at this hotel twice, and will continue to do so when staying in La Paz. Great staff, clean room, and excellent HOT water. They also allow early check when arriving on super early flights. Tip: Rooms on the interior of the hotel have less natural light, but also seem to be noticeably warmer.
Excellent location, cozy and comfortable It's idea for a person or couple. The location is central and easy to access to shopping centers, supermarket s etc. The attention of hosts is friendly, cordial and always available for any questions. I recommend this place for who wants to visit La Paz Bolivia.
We stayed here for a total of 8 nights while in La Paz.
Everything was perfect and the family who run the hostal are very friendly and always helpful.
The included breakfast was the best we had in Bolivia, with fresh fruit, fresh bread, eggs, juice, and tea/coffee every day.
It was my last night in Bolivia And i appreciated that I could meet my friends for goodbyes at the restaurant for a drink. And to have a dinner at my room. I had been to the hotel before and I liked the location and the warm showers and friendly staff. So i came back
The location in zona sur which may the lowest point in LA Paz. Lot of restaurants near the hotel.Easy for acclimatization .Breakfast is adequate. The receptionist Angel is very friendly and patient. We arrived in early flight and was offered early check in.
+ The location is excellent at the heart of La Paz and at walking distance to most attractions.
+ The rooms are very clean, and the hotel staff are very helpful.
+ The property is beautiful and well maintained.
We stayed some extra nights as we were having extra nights in La Paz, we were thinking about trying other hotels but we felt very welcome and comfortable in Atix and we stayed for all our trip in La Paz
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the location was great. The breakfest was good, and there was a nice balcony for the dead time we had in La Paz. They have a nice restaurant too.
New hotel located 10 mins walk from attractions. Good breakfast and amazing view of La Paz from the resturant.
They let us check-in early. And packed breakfast as were leaving early.
Location is perfect for travellers, we travelled Bolivia by bus and the station is right out the front. Great view from the rooftop and the food was lovely.
Stayed one more night for our last day in La Paz. The hostel is centrally located near the witches market and steps away from the purple cable car station.
