On this day tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore the highlights of the three Borromean Islands. The islands have long been a vacation destination for royalty, famous writers and iconic European artists. From Stresa, you'll depart on a shared boat to cruise out into Lake Maggiore. You'll first stop at Isola Madre. Here, you can stroll the eight-hectare grounds of the island's historic botanical garden, one of the most famous in Italy.
You'll then continue to Isola dei Pescatori. Known as Fisherman's Island, Isola dei Pescatori is the only populated island. You can walk through the traditional villages, eat at a trattoria and shop for crafts. To round out the tour, you'll visit Isola Bella, home to Borromeo Palace. You can tour the palace's museum to view original furnishings, sculptures, paintings and frescoes from the 16th–19th centuries.
