This private and guided tour of the Old Town of Heidelberg will take you to places of rich history. You’ll enjoy the lovely riverside setting of the town and stroll on one of the longest pedestrian walkways in Europe. You’ll also see the impressive mix of old and new buildings, shops, restaurants and museums and the narrow streets that link them.
You’ll then visit the Church of the Holy Spirit, which is one of the few buildings to have survived the many wars of the past centuries. A climb into the half-ruined Castle of Heidelberg, which is regarded as one of the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps, will give you a panoramic view of the town.
You’ll pass by the University which was founded in 1386 at the behest of Pope Urban VI and see the lively atmosphere of the students. You’ll also learn about the story of the Heidelberg Students Kiss.
