Excellent location in the center of Akureyri. The room was very large. Our room was quiet and we were unbothered by the bar on the first floor. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the large closet.
I also really liked the Icewear Cat. She’s so cute.

The design and layout of the property were breathtaking and filled me with comfort. I slept handsomely :) the view is so captivating from each room’s lanai, I just kept look out at it while I was in room…I loved it so much I spent an extra night! The host Þorarinn was a great help in many cases from suggestions to accommodations, so thankful for him. Breakfast from 8-10am is lovely and if you like peaceful night sleep this is for you

Check in was smooth, the front desk clerk was warm and welcoming. The whole hotel interior is beautiful and honestly this room was BY FAR THE BEST (yes deserved all the caps lol) that my husband and I stayed in during our week in Iceland. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was great and best of all they actually had a blackout curtain that blacked out the light. Ooh and the breakfast was really good too, one day when we come back we are definitely choosing this location again. This hotel and Akureyri was a highlight of our trip, I wish we could have stayed a few more nights.

Breakfast was the old-fashioned Icelandic spread, which was delicious. The grounds are beautiful, facing the fjord, with walking paths and a cool observation tower.
Located in North Iceland’s main town, Akureyri, this budget summer hotel is a short walk from the city center and the Eyjafjördur Fjord shore. Free parking is offered on site.
Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland.
Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland. We were able to see the Northern lights while there in early October, but our lodging was slightly out of the main city lights. Nice restaurants and easy to walk around. Botanical garden was a very nice place.

Great place for a day trip, or two.
Great place for a day trip, or two. Limited eating options (compared to Reykjavik). The lagoons (Forest lagoon / Myvatn) are worth a visit. There are of course also some nearby waterfalls. There's a fantastic petting zoo which is definitely not to be missed.

Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer.
Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer. Wonderful sights nearby. Very few free parking lots . Dettifoss was awe inspiring. There are steam venting sites worth visiting. There are crevasses separating American and European plates you can walk across caves and crevasses where Game of Thrones was filmed . Restaurant 23 is a great fish restaurant

Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland.
Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland. Super picturesque, at the base of a fjord. We booked a whale watching tour with Keli Sea Tours and saw humpback whales.
Everything is walkable and there are some great restaurants, especially Strikið, where I had the best piece of salmon I have ever eaten.
The botanical garden is free and beautiful. The kids loved the little Christmas house on the edge of town.
If you are driving the ring road, you must stop here!

We was looking for local food but no one. we could find only pizza, burger, fried chicken restaurant. And we was found food truck which owner is very rude, we not recommend there but anyway bakery at the corner was very good.
Favourite hotel that I stayed in during my Iceland trip. Full length glass windows with views of mountains in the distance. 2 bedroom Suite – Master bedroom and smaller room with 2 single beds. Beds were so comfortable and quilt was fluffy and warm. Suite had private soaking tub overlooking snow capped mountains 😊
There was a kitchenette and barbeque grill – it would have been lovely to have a BBQ in the midst of this beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Hotel had a good buffet breakfast spread.
The location was walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The view from our room was the apartment building across the way plus a mini park with a slide- was fun if you like to people-watch. The bar/restaurant downstairs served a great breakfast with homemade eggs, bacon (was a bit too salty though!), melons/fruit, cereal, continental items, and many juices to choose from (plus coffee, etc.). Room had a tv, water kettle, and small refrigerator. There was a small kitchenette to use on our floor too!
The bungalow was very comfortable and cosy, located in the woods. Fairytale and very romantic place. There is a queen size bed, video option with movies, table and small kitchen inside. The bathroom was enough big. We will recommend for dinner the Eyri restaurant on the lake, only 10 minutes away from the property. It´s a gourmet one (higher price level) but all very tasty with an excellend wine choice. Near Akureyri we will highly recommend also to visit the Forest Lagoon (thermal baths).
The hotel is clean and in a great location. It is a 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants. The only challenge we had was walking back to the hotel from town since it’s a pretty steep climb. Once we got our rental car the climb was no longer a concern. Parking was easy at the hotel and the downtown area. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a good variety of food. The buffet was pricey but then overall the food in Iceland is higher than other European locations.
Very centrally located, this made a great base during our stay in Akureyri. It was also very well priced compared to other places of a similar level troughout Iceland.
Breakfast was good and the room was very clean.
While the hotel has it's own restaurant, we decided to eat out on that day and were pleased with the number of restaurants close to the hotel.
Icelandair Akureyri was a refreshing and pleasant change compared to a couple of previous depressing hotels we stayed in on our trip to Iceland. The lobby is sleek and inviting. Our room was full of light and air. It was a proper family room with a separate area for kids: bunk bed + wardrobe. Breakfast choice was one of the best we had in Iceland.
The location was very convenient, a short walk from the central restaurants/bars but just distant enough to not be noisy, and just off the main road (1). The quality of the breakfast food was very high (but a la carte, not a buffet like most hotels). Getting the PIN to unlock our room by text was very convenient for arriving late.
I have just stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it snowed everyday,
It was such a lovely quiet hotel and a very lovely chilled stay…
We had the hot tub everyday 4pm till 11pm,
It was close to the airport and city,
Breakfast was amazing
Room was lovely and warm also staff were very friendly and helpful
Great hotel overlooking the fjord waters with a rural atmosphere. Within a few minutes by car to the city of Akureyi. Great morning breakfast. The room was generous in size and the public areas were a great bonus while relaxing at the end of the day. Owners and staff were great.
It's all about the location: the hotel is on the main street, right next to many restaurants and shops.
The room was clean, with modern facilities.
We were allowed to use the washing machine, which was very helpful.
Breakfast was good (served at the restaurant downstairs).
Beds (2 twins) were comfortable. Windows let in good air. Good placement of outlets near beds. Staff was kind. Breakfast was included and consisted of toast, hard-boiled eggs, cheese and crackers, veggies. Hotel was right next to great restaurants and shopping (Icewear).
We use this apartment hotel almost always we travel to Akureyri. The location is great. In the center of town and close to the great swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and guest beds are great for teenagers. Good to have a fridge as well.
Comfortable beds. Obviously newly renovated room. Great breakfast. Employees helpful and kind. Hotel location could not be better. Walking distance to restaurants and Main Street.
Definitely stay there again.
Free parking close by. Location with walking distance to food options. Clean and quirky decor which makes it different to other hotels. Very good breakfast.
