Mersing is not a town to visit. It is simply the starting point to get to Tioman island and other islands.Do Not stay in the town….it is run down with nothing to do.I stayed at the best hotel and it was disgusting…..see my trip advisor review under Blighty.

The main reason to stay in Mersing is to catch the ferry to Tioman Island the next day. For a couple fo hours there's are enough possibilites to have a snack or a meal, get money from an ATM (you'll need cash on Tioman) and do last minute shopping.

A small fishing village where you can easily access by foot to the local foods, nearby beaches, river, etc.
We have also visited the Bt Selantai, Pulau Mawar, The Green Lake, by hired private cars.
A must try roti bakar & their nasik dagang is a bonus !
The fried carrot cake & noodles is fanstastic with reasonable price.

Mersing is a good town by itself.
Mersing is a good town by itself. Town that use by traveler to stop by especially for those going for fishing trip or going to Tioman Island.
No much sea food served by the shop, since the place is popular for deep sea fishermen.
Should promote more of eating outlet for sea food favourite.

It is a typical small Malaysian seaside town.
It is a typical small Malaysian seaside town. Clean and quaint with a wide variety of cafes, restaurants and other eateries. The beaches are clean and the cost of accommodations is reasonable. A nice place to rest and relax. The seafood is fresh and delicious and do Google for place to eat. I worked of an internet list and was surprised at the accuracy of the reviews. Reasonably priced delicious meals are to be had here.

Hotel was the worst hotel i stayed before.
Hotel was the worst hotel i stayed before. Hotel Manager Mr Ben was totally arrogant and not open to any feedback. I am not sure about other hotels, but definetely Bayu Lestarinis a disaster. I saw many European people were complaining but hotel manager does not care
The host was fantastic, collected us on 3 occasions going to tioman Island and back. Really helpful, communication was always there when needed. The homestay is lovely and welcoming, nice area to chill out. Not far from the town of mersing, there are bikes you can use free of charge. Accros the road there is an outdoor gym and courts. Wifi excellent, washing machine comes in handy.. we had a very enjoyable stay here twice!
Easy to locate. Self check in. We stayed in an apartment with kitchen, 2 toilets, 1 bedroom & 1 living area. Host was extremely helpful when I enquire about food options and activities around Mersing. Highly recommend because he is such a good host!
Located just out of town, this is probably the best surviving hotel in Mersing whose tragedy it is to be just a staging point for tourists on their way to the islands. Serviceable, comfortable enough and clean enough but that's about it.
We arrived at the hotel quite late, at 11.30pm, and the staff was still there to wait for us to check in to our rooms. They were very helpful and friendly.
The beds were very comfortable and clean. Aircon was good
The location is convenient to bus and ferry terminals. It is at walking distance from the beach and beside the riverfront. Many restaurants and eateries nearby. The owner of the place is also very good and helpful.
Beautiful and clean beach, there's staff picking up garbage on the beach every morning.
Food was great homestyle Malay food.
The electrical scooter was fun.
Very comfy bed, I can easily fell asleep
The environment is peaceful and quiet. The front yard is spacious, can park your car anywhere you like and let your kids play in front of the chalet while u sit at the balcony. Got water heather.
Clean and spacious house and parking space for more than 1 car. Very suitable for big family. Located very near to the Mersing town centre. The owner was very quick to respond to my query.
this is quite nice place as it strategic location & come with 8/ day for parking if you going to island .
it could be look like a haunted outside 😂 but is okay in the inside 😉
