City is truly a gem worth exploring. With its breathtaking beauty and rich history, we wholeheartedly recommend visiting it. The atmosphere is vibrant, filled with warmth and hospitality from the friendly local people. Overall, our stay at the hotel was enjoyable with its central location, excellent amenities like restaurants, spa, and a pleasant swimming pool. The room was nice, cozy, clean, and offered a comfortable retreat. The breakfast buffet great, impressed with its quality and variety. However, there were a few notable hiccups. Despite requesting a room on an upper floor beforehand, we were assigned to the lowest floor upon arrival. The front desk staff did their best to accommodate us, which we appreciated.

Called the Amber Capital of the World, Gdańsk is the major shipping seaport and the most beautiful city along the Polish Baltic coast. It has everything a city of this scale needs: a fascinating history, great architecture and a friendly atmosphere!
Also known as Danzig due to its complex past with periods of Polish, German and self-rule, the city is part of the Tricity urban area together with the port city of Gdynia and the popular spa town, Sopot. It’s also a birthplace of the world-famous Solidarity movement, which helped to bring down the Communist rule in Poland initiating the end of the Cold War era.
Its charming buildings were rebuilt in a historical style after the near-complete destruction during the World War II. The colourful town houses of the Old Town can be admired by boat on the Motlawa River or enjoyed while strolling along the popular Long Street and Long Market.
While in Gdańsk, make sure you visit the 15th-century St Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in Europe, and you make a wish at the Neptune Fountain, the city’s patron. While in town, try the legendary local Goldwasser liqueur with 22 karat gold flakes!
Whether you reach Gdańsk by train or plane, Booking.com offers a variety of accommodation near the Lech Walesa Airport, the picturesque Old Town or the general city centre.
Some lovely architecture and nice beaches at Sopot.
Some lovely architecture and nice beaches at Sopot. Gdynia was very disappointing. Most buildings in the old town are amber jewellery shops, currency exchange, restaurants, or coffee shops (which are nothing special). There isn't much else unless you go to a generic shopping centre. There are places of interest, monuments, museum etc but overall a little disappointing. Not as interesting as Warsaw or Krakow.

Nice old town to visite on a weekend.
Nice old town to visite on a weekend.
We strongly recommend that you also take a fast train to Sopot which is a lovely little sea town with a very large and beautiful bridge on the sea.
Children will probably love to go on a pirate boat trip but do it when it is warm otherwise you will freeze.
The Amber Museum in Gdansk is absolutely beautiful. Dont miss it.

There is not enough space to say all I want to here.
There is not enough space to say all I want to here. I love Gdansk and everything about it, and if you haven't been there, then WHY ON EARTH NOT?
Go there at once and DON'T just stick to the old town and Dluga street. These are really good, and I love them too (as I do everything). But there is so much more. Day trips galore, great parks, excellent walking, a huge variety of restaurants and cafes, the river, the many miles of wonderful smooth sandy beaches (and the water is NOT always so cold as you might think!)
Gdansk old town for architecture and history.
Gdansk Wrzeszcz for restaurants and cafes.
Gdansk Oliwa for the fabulous Park Oliwskie.
Sopot and Gdynia for additional fun!
Getting around couldn't be easier with trams and buses galore. Using Google Maps to help you, you'll be able to get everywhere.
OMG I totally LOVE THIS PLACE, and every time spent there is full of great things!

The city is very well structured and therefore it's almost impossible to get lost. The architecture is stunning - a mixture of Dutch and German styles gives it a unique look. Walking by the riverside is a beautiful experience, also the beach is not far, about 25 minutes by tram. Many great restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisines to satisfy everyone.

If you hold with the truth that there is no time like the past, then you cannot fail to like it. The Old Town is fascinating. For the first time in a long while, I was time travelling again. Not easy to find a restaurant which is vegetarian-friendly, but worth looking through the windows, first floor elevated or into the basement, at interiors that remind me of the years before WWII. I dined at Liberum, which is competitively priced and comfortable, and then stopped for a pint at a whacky vintage bar called, in English, 'Wardrobe'. I was in transit, so only in Gdansk for one night, but you'd be hard pushed to experience everything exhaustively even if you had a week at your disposal. If you don't go, you won't know!

There are loads of places to see and most people speak English. When booking the accommodation the pictures and views were of the river and in the centre of Old Town but when we arrived we were further out and really had only views of other apartment blocks.
The location of this hostel is great! You are literally at the main gate of the old town. Staff are really nice and the rooms are quite clean and comfy. I liked that the rooms were not set up with cheap bunk beds but rather individual solid single beds. Airy large windows with lots of natural light. Well equipped spacious kitchen, luggage storage, free towel and bed linen, clean bathrooms. Easy access to everything you wanna see in Gdańsk just a few steps aways.
The apartment is in perfect location, short distance by car tram or train to Gdańsk old town or Sopot as well as other parts of town and beach. It was quiet, spacious for two of us clean and fully equipped. Communication with owner was excellent and they made sure or stay was comfortable, there was basic kitchen stuff available like coffee sugar milk pots etc as well as a bottle of lovely Cava which was a really nice touch.
The hotel was an absolute delight in every respect. The staff were so friendly and extremely obliging. The location and facilities were excellent . The hotel is located within walking distance of the old town. Gdańsk is a beautiful city and our stay in this hotel made for a lovely trip . Great choice of food for breakfast. It was the best venue hotel we have stayed in and we’ll deserved its 5 star rating .
The hotel was extremely clean with big spacious rooms and quite close to the Old town. The biggest plus of this hotel is that the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are included in the room price. The SPA facilities are also available at an extra cost. The staff were very polite and helpful. I had requested for a room with the riverside view and they granted my request. I was very happy.
The hotel is situated in an excellent position, a stone throw away from old town but with easy access via tram, bus and train to get to wherever you want. Walking distance to great restaurants and convenient stores.. loved that the hotel provided carafes in the room you could fill free with cold water, still or sparkling. Breakfast was amazing , so much choice .
Perfect location, 1 minute from the main tourist area, silent, clean. Free coffee 24/7 at the reception for the guests. Very helpful hotel staff in the evening (two young ladies most of the days). Great breakfast, although quite expensive (but it's a common thing in Poland, breakfast outside would not be cheaper).
Location is perfect. Staying there you live just aside if the center of Gdansk in the old town. You go out and are just few steps away from "Zuraw" and Motlawa river. Take the option with breakfasts included. Not a hotel standard but it lets you start your day with some sandwiches and a cup of coffee.
We really liked the water dispensers on every floor.
The hotel is a great value for money as it's located very close to the old town it's clean and has the basic amenities you'd need.
The staff were helpful and nice when we wanted to store luggage after we already checked out.
There was a great choice at breakfast. The room was spacious with an excellent bathroom. The hotel was well located with a 10 minute walk in to the City centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was an excellent spa facility and my partner enjoyed her treatments.
I highly recommend this hotel as it was modern and clean. Staffs were kind and supportive. The location was near to the Polytechnic and medical Universities and just few stations far from nice old town of Gdansk.
❤ 🇵🇱
The breakfast was the best out of the three hotels I stayed in while in Poland. The location was close to many attractions, and it was walkable to the train station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Super cute overall.
A nice, quality, modern hotel with immaculate facilities. The breakfast was excellent, the room was very clean and comfortable, the spa was very relaxing and the city centre was less than a 10 minute walk away.
The room was very comfortable and stylish looking. The location of the hotel was wonderful-very convenient to walk around the old town and along the river. A lot of really nice restaurants nearby.
Nicely decorated and well maintained hotel surrounded by woods and next to a small lake. Only 15-20 minutes drive to Sopot or Gdansk city centre. Lots of space in the room and very big bathroom.
The hotel is great . Perfect location, great staff .. breakfast is lovely .. pool and sauna all when you choose ... poland is a great break away beautiful old town lots to do ..
Comfortable hotel in a very good location (next to the main train and bus station, approx. 5minutes walking distance to the city centre. The room was clean and spacious.
Best location in the heart of the Old Town. Very comfortable 2 bedrooms, nice open common space with kitchenette, table and sleeping sofa. Nicely decorated.
