FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Whether you’re flying into Manchester International Airport for business or partying in one of the 500 bars in city, Booking.com’s hotels and apartments can match your accommodation needs.

A very up and coming city, when we ventured into the city it didn’t seem all that busy, we did a nice river cruise, we were guided through the history of the docks. Wear a jacket of some sort it can get chilly in areas. A visit to the Shambles square is a must to view the medieval and Tudor architecture, The Old Wellington Inn (which serves gorgeous food by the way) built perhaps in 1552, just after King Henry VIII reign..and Sinclair’s Oyster Bar is adjoined, but built much later, late seventeenth early eighteenth century, interesting read if you Google ‘Shambles’

If you are visiting Manchester for the first time, make sure...

If you are visiting Manchester for the first time, make sure you check out the parking options near to where you are staying. Council parking is enforced between 08.00 - 20.00 so on-street parking is not ideal for long stays. There are plenty of restaurants and different cuisines in the centre so finding somewhere to eat is never an issue, some places do get busier than others! Plenty of local amenities are easy to walk to from most places, further out you can get the tram.

Parts of Manchester are fabulous and the buildings are...

Parts of Manchester are fabulous and the buildings are absolutely industrial chic photographers dream. Some areas outside the main drag are very rundown. For example the area around the Man City Football Stadium and the new Co op arena (Beswick) is very deprived. One one side is a lovely walk back to the city centre and on the other is a rundown depressing housing estate. The juxtaposition is striking and obscene

This hotel is definitely one of the best value for money in Manchester, the location is so good, right in the centre of the city, just outside the door is the square town hall and tram platform, there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the people at reception were very friendly! And they have a restaurant and bar downstairs at ground floor and is very large and very cosy!

The location was perfect in the centre of the town. Parking 5 minutes walk. Arrived at 10.30 and was checked in straight away, which is unusual for city centre hotels. We were greeted by a very professional and pleasant young lady when we checked in. Stunning decor very different to hotels that we have stayed in before. Very clean would highly recommend and our go to hotel for future stays in Manchester.

Bus Stop outside for Manchester City Centre. Tram stop about 10 - 15 minutes walk away for City Centre. Large Room very clean, comfy and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't eat at the Hotel as attending a show at the AO Arena that evening. Didn't have breakfast as had to be somewhere else so ate along the way.
