The Bay is easy to get around and caters to all age demographics
The shopping has some little gems, but for a serious shopper Newcastle is a short drive away
Lots of calm beach’s for the not so confident in the surf or you are within a 15 minute drive to a surf beach.

To comercial .
To comercial . Local council likes to jam parking meters everywhere you go so they can milk money out you, this totally discourages stopping anywhere to visit local shops. The boat ramps even had metered parking , people would like to have an unlimited day out in their boat and not be concerned about how much it will cost. Disgusting greed.

What a darling place to visit with friends! If you're looking for a quiet girls weekend/getaway there are multitudes of great restaurants and cafes, lots of homeware shopping and boutiques, and lots of massage and nail salons. So awesome, would go again in a heartbeat.

The whole area is beautiful, with many beautiful beaches, waterways and National Parks. Whether you want to swim, bushwalk, bird watch, get into photography, go boating, dive, explore, whale or dolphin watch, visit nearby islands or just simply relax, Nelson Bay/ Port Stephens Area is awesome. It has Great places to dine, my favourites Sirenas Seaside at d'Albora Marina, The Deck at Soldiers Point and Bubs Seafood also at the marina. My last holiday there, I really needed to relax. I had 9 days of perfect weather, ocean swimming, beach and bush walking everyday. Getting pampered at Sirene Spa Shoal Bay everyday, either with massages or sauna and spa.

Great selection of restaurants, cafes & bars within easy walking distance, particularly enjoyed Mavericks for the food, location overlooking the Marina and friendly staff. Large Woolworths to get all of your food for self-catering. Great local bus service to see the wider area plus ferry to Tea gardens and Dolphin cruises - what is not to like! The staff at the Tourist Information office were very helpful.
location was excellent, we loved the apartment it was very clean, the family loved it at nelson bay. it was just a great visit as we were central to a lot of other locations. the sliding door was a worry to me as it would not lock, but a big thank you for fixing it for me . hope I will not be charge for the new lock. I would differently be recommending to my friends to stay at Bay Parklands.
The house was extremely clean and tidy including bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped including those little extras such as tea, coffee, sugar and Tim Tams. The house is in a good location in Nelson Bay located in a quiet suburban street and only 5 minutes by car to the town centre which had a Woolworths, many cafes and restaurants.
LOVED THE LOCATION. WALKING DISTANCE FROM RESTAURANTS SHOPS AND ALL AMENTITIES IN NELSON BAY. WE WERE UPGRADED TO AN APARTMENT OVERLOOKING THE BAY WHICH WE DID NOT EXPECT BUT APPRECIATED. HAD BREAKFAST AT THE NEL CAFE ONSITE WHICH WAS EXCELLENT. GREAT STAFF IN BOTH THE HOTEL AND CAFE EAGER TO PLEASE. WE WILL RETURN.
The cabins we were staying in are super close to the beach access. They’re spacious and had everything we needed. The park is in a great location, a short walk to both beaches on either side and the boathouse restaurant up the road which was amazing. Very central and close to Nelson bay centre and shoal bay.
Great staff good wifi(traveling with teenager) super clean and comfy bed. Central for Nelson Bay Shoal bay short drive to Fingal Bay or Salamader. Would stay again for sure. Walking distance to Diggers or cafe and chinese available at accomodation.
It was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and even more. The house is also well furnished and decorated. It was very close to shops and Beaches. Would go there again and again.🙂
Location. I have been to Nelson Bay quite a few time's and have always wanted to stay in these apartments. It is definitely a great location down one level n you are in the central part of town. Parking is great you can come and go as you please.
Amazing location, and everything we needed for a stay in Nelson Bay. Clean, great air conditioning and comfortable beds. Shoal bay beach was a 5 minute walk away and was absolutely stunning. We would love to stay again.
Location, room and the bed were very good. The room included a lounge area and a small kitchen with lots of appliances. We did enjoy our stay and the hotel was close to town and the Nelson Bay boat harbour.
Very comfortable room.Although close to road the room was soundproofed.
Didn't have time to utilise all of the hotels facilities but what we did utilise they where first class.
Staff where very helpful.
Tallean Hideaway is fresh, stylish and immaculate with so many thoughtful and unexpected extra touches. It’s a short walk and even shorter drive into beautiful Nelson Bay shopping, cafes and beaches.
Spacious. Aircon in all rooms plus fans in bedroom. Short drive to everywhere. Only 5-minute drive to Fingal Bay (surf) beach, Mt Tomaree Head Summit Walk and Nelson Bay Lighthouse/Museum/Tea house.
We had 3 x rooms, 2 x family 2 bedrooms and 1 hotel room
Whilst the family rooms were good, well lit and spacious. The pool area is good and clean. The water is a tad colder than what you'd want.
The location the size of the room loved that it had a mini kitchen and microwave and close to shops walking distance.I’ve stayed at other hotels in Nelson bay this will be my regular motel .
The cleanliness was outstanding! Every gadget you could need was in the property. Location was perfect, halfway between Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay. Also beach access is right there.
It was a great stay, had everything we needed - the pool was great too. Perfect location close to Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay, i'd stay here again if I visited.
No hassles. The receptionist explained everything very clearly. Two undercover car parking spots for me and my son's family were unexpected but terrific.
