This a quaint, picturesque spot far from the hustle bustle of busier Douro spots. The entire area is beautiful. We had rooms in the main house rather than an apartment. The beds were comfortable and the decor old fashioned and quaint. The breakfast was excellent. We had fun with the pool table. We never saw a swimming pool, but it was too chilly to swim anyway. The owners are interesting and very sweet. They do not speak much English but it was not a problem. Staying at Outros Tempos is like staying at the home of a very nice couple, rather than an impersonal hotel!

It was a bit of a drive to get to the tasting houses and the streets in the town are very narrow, but the area and all the drives are incredibly scenic.

The staff were amazing! Super friendly and attentive throughout the resort, the entertainment staff are fantastic - Noah still misses his "amigos". The rooms are clean and comfortable. Dining at the hotel was a delightful experience with diverse and delicious options. I’m confident your stay will exceed expectations and provide memorable moments.

It was weird not having a host there and that something might have gone wrong with the checkin machine, but it all worked out. That being said, they should have someone on site on weekends as that's the busiest time and the most at risk of tenants having an issue.

The location was a walking distance to major tourist attractions and the metro. The host Dainella was very responsive to urgent messages.

It was very frustating taking shower without the water splashing on the bathroom floor. The shower area only had a half glass enclosure. The pillows are also not that comfortable. The most important part is the electrical circuit breaker cannot handle operating multiple appliances at a time. I learned it the hard way when I had the air conditioning unit running and I decided to use the percolator to make some tea. As soon as I turned on the kettle, electricity in the room went out. I knew it was just in our room because there is light out outside our room. I sent Daniella a message and she called me back providing instructions on how to check the circuit breaker panel. I'm a handy man and I knew that it was the circuit breaker that tripped off line. Daniella informed me that they are aware of this issue and that they have told the flat owner about this but has not been resolved yet. I would recommend putting a note in the flat for future occupants so they can be aware of this issue. Also for the shower area, I would recommed installing a shower curtain to prevent water from splashing in the bathroom area.

Not having WiFi the entire time we were there and not having enough towels. When we called asking for more towels they told us they were gonna charge us for them if we wanted them. The WiFi issue happen because of construction outside, but even when it was working, and it would show on my phone that I was working, it really didn’t work at all.

In all the years and many, many hotel nights I have purchased from you, this is the first time I disagree with the reviews. The tiny, totally charmless “superior” room was depressing, and $217 a night including breakfast was way too much. There was no comfortable chair, and the furniture was cheap, red metal. The flooring was cheap plastic and it cement bathroom tiles. The overcrowded, tiny breakfast area was open air due to renovations. Smoking there was allowed, so anyone sensitive to cigarette smoke should be aware that smoking is permitted. Every other property in our 24 night Portugal trip was totally outstanding and deserved the top, top ratings I gave.

Bathrooms were a bit small and not flushing the toilet paper was an adjustment especially after Mexican food for lunch and Indian food for dinner
