A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

WE were in Melbourne on a Friday night with a sellout game at Marvel Football arena. This made that end of town busy and bustling. We enjoyed a meal in China town, travelled the free tram and parked in the SOuthern Cross DFO carpark for convience- just a block down from hotel. Ate brekky there next morning in nice eatery.
DFO shops open at 10am or head into CBD via free tram.

I loved the free trams to take you all around the city centre. Where we stayed in Southbank was so close to everything, 5 min walk to supermarkets, train, trams, attractions, restaurants etc. I also loved all the old architecture in Melbourne. The city has preserved the past for the future generations to see.

I was there to visit friends and relatives and have been to Melbourne many times so I have no tourist tips. I did enjoy a visit and lunch at Poyntons Garden Nursery in Essenden. I believe it covers 3-1/2acres.

Melbourne is great but the hotel IBIS was a disgrace, no milk in fridge, no glasses to drink from only 2 mugs, no napkins or tea towel, no hand towels or face towels, small bath towels. Shower head not working properly, no soaps only body wash. no space in the so called bathroom to dry of, had to dry of in the living area, no where to hang towels. Living area no table and chairs to sit at, had to lie on the bed to watch television. only 1 small side cupboard at side of bed nothing other side.
Staff were not interested in doing anything about the shower , just smiled and said we will look into it. The picture of the hotel in the add is not the hotel but Flinders street Station. We are totaly dissapointed, it made our stay in Melbourne very very unpleasant. After some 20 years plus of using Booking.com. this is only our 3 complaint. I feel we should be seeking a refund this time. The Hotel is more for a 1 night stay for 1 person, With kind Regards, IAN AND PAM PEMBER W.A.
The location is perfect. Situated in the heart of the CBD. Tram stop out at the front door which makes it easy to get around the city. The rooms are quiet generous in size. Blossom’s Roof top bar make delicious pizza’s which go down well with a cocktail and the staff are very helpful. We travel to Melbourne every year to watch footy and have stayed at a lot of different hotels. There is lots of walking involved to get to them. I think we have found the perfect location. This is our second stay here and I know we will return again.
The apartment is very near the Southern Cross Station, just five minutes walk ahead! There is also a tram station just in front of the apartment’s entrance and it was located in the free tram zone, we can just travel around in the Melbourne CBD without paying anything! The room is also very clean and tidy. We arrived in Melbourne in the midnight, we just collected the keys from the Ezymart staff. Easy check in!
General: Second stay in Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, good amenities as always. Process was convenient when we decided to extend our stay by a day.
Location: Very accessible to Melbourne CBD, tram stops, and Flinders Street Station.
Room: Cleanliness was maintained every day.
Bed: Clean and comfortable.
Other amenities: Breakfast and luggage storage were again included during our stay. Staff was friendly.
Quincy is a modern, boutique-style hotel, with a funky atmosphere. The rooms are nicely decorated. I loved the pink tiles in my bathroom and the potent shower. The hotel had a heated lap pool on the top floor. The place was conveniently located in the CBD close to all the amenities. The restaurant had a fancy Asian fusion-style type of food. Everything was reasonably priced.
A great central location in the city CBD, with easy access to transport, restaurants, shopping, sporting venues and the many tourist attractions in and around the city. The hotel environment and staff was very friendly and welcoming. The cafe breakfast had a great selection of food options to kick start my day off in the right direction.
Close to the CBD, less than 5min walk from Flinders St and worth it to get out of the construction in the city. Very pcturesque part of Melbourne overlooking the gardens. Best part of Southbank on the river away from City Road. Very good sized rooms and quick efficient elevators. Nice staff.
Crown Metropol is always my first choice. We love spending time in Melbourne and it’s location helps us to easily walk to docklands, Southbank or into the heart of the city. If you don’t want to venture out to much the hotel has an amazing swimming pool and the room service is fantastic.
Great location. About 30 mins from airport. Close to DFO, Casino, Melbourne CBD. Have stayed in this penthouse apartment before with groups of friends because of size and location. 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and two single beds in lounge area. Very comfortable beds and awesome city views.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the apartments is convenient, close to CBD, Docklands and Southern Cross Station. Our apartment was quite new. The kitchen and laundry were fully equipped, including washing liquid and capsules, and this was very handy.
We really enjoyed the hotel, as it was located within the CBD of Melbourne. It is also strategically positioned close to the airport bus terminals and the free tram zones. Facilities such as the saunas and swimming from the hotels were great for end the night!
Beautiful apartment hotel, conveniently located next to DFO South Wharf and a quick stroll to the CBD and Southbank. The rooms were perfectly clean and we had great views of the city, with attentive and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!
The hotel was fantastic, it was clean and the rooms were great. The staff were all very friendly, and super helpful. The location was good if you want to be out of the CBD, but still in a central location and close to Smith St.
I really liked the location of the hotel, it was right where the train or tram comes through making it easy to visit the CBD and even go to the river to take pictures of take a river tour. It’s a pretty hotel as well.
The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore Melbourne CBD which we did on foot. Handy to great restaurants and shopping. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Apartments are clean and comfortable.
Opposite train station , great for overnight visit to Melbourne good access to CBD and then on to airport. Hotel happy to check baggage in early and hold after checkout. Good breakfast
It was well priced and not too far from the CBD. It had secured and undercover parking, It also had 2 trams stops nearby which made it easy to get around Melbourne.
