The city is interesting, particularly in the old quarter around the cathedral and Gaudi building. There are several very good value hotels in the centre of the city and many restaurants which tend to be busy.

Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend stay. Main attraction is the Antonio Gaudi-designed Bishop's Palace (now a museum), a sort of Sleeping Beauty castle designed as a residence for the bishop of the cathedral next door. Secondly, the architecture and buildings all around town -- you can walk for hours and it's even large enough to get lost in, so bring your phone. The cathedral is sadly not very worthwhile -- drab, disorganized, you can go in but you won't stay long. Tip: Almost all shops are closed Sunday, except for the moust touristic, so do your shopping on Saturday.

The old town center was great--an example for the rest of the world! The whole town seemed to come out in the afternoons and evenings to eat, drink, socialize and people watch. It is a model of good urban design fostering community. All pedestrian of course! The people were very friendly to the peregrinos (like me) passing through on their way to Santiago.

A lovely town with a beautiful Cathedral and Museums, churches , and architecture. Many good restaurants, cafes and bars , also a traditional market on Tuesdays. The local people and staff serving in the restaurants and cafes are very friendly and kind to all.

Interesting old town with history, character and a great stop on The Camino de Santiago walk which has given a new lease of life to Astorga. The cuisine is another attraction and one hopes the improved economy will continue ... with its abnormally large cathedral and the Gaudi palace, charming town hall, plus the eccentric Paneiro poet family dwelling all add interest and

The hotel is located right in the old town, in walking distance from all sights of beautiful Astorga 🤩. Lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby. Super friendly and professional staff. Very good breakfast (except for the dry scrambled eggs but that’s ok) and VERY IMPORTANT for lactose intolerant travelers: oat and other vegan milks, not easy to find in Spain 🙏🏻 Fabulous views over the valley from the terrace

After finishing Caminos Frances and Norte, my sister and I rented car and returned to Astorga to see the Cathedral and visit our favorite jewelry shop. The Apt El Atico was great. The host was in constant communication and the contactless checkin and access was seamless. The 2 bedroom unit was very comfortable and the location was perfect. We would definitely stay here again. Parking was free, 5 minute walk.

Enormous, well-equipped, comfortable, modern apartment close a few steps from Plaza España in Astorga. Great wifi, super-comfy bed, tons of facilities for a long-term stay. Very nice balconies opening up into a quiet street. Super-easy to work with the host to collect keys. Unfortunately, I only stayed for one night (on the camino) but I would have loved to stay longer.

I liked the friendliness of the staff. The hostal was clean and comfortable. I felt very safe there as a solo traveller. The menu was explained very well and I really enjoyed my dinner. There was a map left in my room of Astorga and it provided a wide range of information for me. I had a lovely stay at Hostal Residencia Delfin. Thank you.

The location of the hotel is right on the Camino Way and also close to Astorga’s sights. We enjoyed the ‘olde worlde’ charm of the building itself and were made to feel welcome on arrival. The room was really spacious and the bed comfortable and everything very clean. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that aspect.

not really what I was looking for. it is a rather cold and rigid environment, rooms are not cosy. showers are awkward to dress; you can’t really dress up there without anyone seeing you. getting a bit of privacy for putting clothes on is a challenge. sorry I’m not a fan, I was happy to leave. so probably not your Camino hotel.

Elegant old hotel with beautiful sitting rooms, sun rooms and outside gardens. Beds were comfortable, it was quiet and dark and there was a beautiful deep tub in our bathroom! I could have stayed several days! Our host was gracious and kind and said that he was the eleventh generation to have lived in the home.

The apartment was nicely decorated, lot of natural light, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. It’s 1 min away from the main square and you can park your car on the private parking of the Hotel in charge of the apartments, same place where keys are picked up. Check in experience was super nice, thanks Jenni

My wife and I were very pleased with our stay at El Descanso de Wendy. The room was very nice, the bathroom was spacious and the patio was spectacular. We sat outside as twilight fell and enjoyed chocolates and pastries above the rooftops of Astorga. Great breakfast. Great bed. Quiet.

Very large, well appointed apartment in the heart of Astorga. We stayed here during our Camino journey, as a bit of luxury on my birthday. It was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked to make a meal. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Excellent location - near the Cathedral, Gaudi's Palace, shops, a laundry, many cafes and restaurants, and El Camino. The hotel has a pool and hot tub; the hotel needs to place on its website that there is a charge (about $20 a person) to access the pool/hot tub.

We paid $60 euros for laundry that we ended up doing. The hotel staff said laundry would be done in 2 hours. We went into the room took laundry out and had to hang dry it because the dryer was overloaded.
