The city is interesting, particularly in the old quarter around the cathedral and Gaudi building. There are several very good value hotels in the centre of the city and many restaurants which tend to be busy.

Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend stay. Main attraction is the Antonio Gaudi-designed Bishop's Palace (now a museum), a sort of Sleeping Beauty castle designed as a residence for the bishop of the cathedral next door. Secondly, the architecture and buildings all around town -- you can walk for hours and it's even large enough to get lost in, so bring your phone. The cathedral is sadly not very worthwhile -- drab, disorganized, you can go in but you won't stay long. Tip: Almost all shops are closed Sunday, except for the moust touristic, so do your shopping on Saturday.

The old town center was great--an example for the rest of the world! The whole town seemed to come out in the afternoons and evenings to eat, drink, socialize and people watch. It is a model of good urban design fostering community. All pedestrian of course! The people were very friendly to the peregrinos (like me) passing through on their way to Santiago.

Interesting old town with history, character and a great stop on The Camino de Santiago walk which has given a new lease of life to Astorga. The cuisine is another attraction and one hopes the improved economy will continue ... with its abnormally large cathedral and the Gaudi palace, charming town hall, plus the eccentric Paneiro poet family dwelling all add interest and
Large room with comfortable beds. View to rear not great looked out onto rubbish bins. The location of the hotel is good. There is a drop off area outside the reception and then a drive to the car park on a lower level no lift back into the hotel so lots of steps back into the hotel. Breakfast was a little meagre for a continental style, no fresh fruit or cereal, what was offered was of good quality.
I liked the friendliness of the staff. The hostal was clean and comfortable. I felt very safe there as a solo traveller. The menu was explained very well and I really enjoyed my dinner. There was a map left in my room of Astorga and it provided a wide range of information for me. I had a lovely stay at Hostal Residencia Delfin. Thank you.
Location for walking the Camino de Santiago, good price for a solo Pilgrim who prefers a private room and bath. Very clean room and comfortable bed!
There is a restaurant next to the hotel and the food was excellent but they don’t start serving dinner until 7 ish. .
Good room in a good hotel. Location great, right on the main square. Secure, underground parking for the motorbike which they didn't charge us the full car rate for.
Restaurant very good and the discount for hotel residents very welcome.
I loved my stay here! The hosts are so friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast! I loved the room that I stayed in - the bed is so comfy and the decoration is superb. I would definitely stay here again on another trip to Astorga.
Lovely apartment in Astorga. The owner is very helpful. He found some information about the spas in town for us. He even posted a forgotten item for us. It is located a 10 minute walk from the Centro. We felt like locals.
Loved the history and architecture of this place, the location in the center of Astorga, its elegant common rooms, the very serene patio with a fountain in the middle, my spacious and comfortable room, the luxurious bathroom
The room was large and comfortable. The hotel is located on the Plaza Mayor, with many restaurants available. The potential noise problem was neutralized by double windows.
This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of the city, steps from the sites. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff members were helpful and spoke English.
They were ready to check us in at 4.30.am (the time we arrived at Astorga). They immediately answered all my questions on the chat Central location. Nice and clean.
