My daughter wanted to stay in a small Pension like we used to stay in when we lived in Austria. None of us were disappointed. It was everything that we wanted, with a lovely breakfast and friendly owners.

Good place where you can start your biking/hiking trips (short ones: Zwölferhorn, Katrin, Postalm, Schafberg etc.; or long ones: Gosausee, Hallstätter See, Traunsee, Attersee, Krippenstein, Salzburg).

Amazing location right on the lake edge.
Amazing location right on the lake edge. Good transport links nearby (Ferry & bus) for easy access to other areas around the lake. Was a little disappointed there were no ferries in the late evening as taxis to other side of the lake seemed expensive, but we had food in the lovely seehotel down the road. Great place for cycling, running and walking. If your looking for something a bit livelier you could try St Wolfgang or St Gilgen, but Abersee was just right for us.
